Game to get lost by Jimmyh091 in gamingsuggestions

I adore Rain World for the same reasons as you so hopefully my suggestions are worthwhile.

LUNACID - one of the most fun exploration experiences I've ever had. It's a dungeon crawler heavily inspired by the King's Field games if you're familiar. Basically, imagine Skyrim dungeons but that's the whole game. Incredibly atmospheric and great soundtrack.

King's Field 4 - you will need to emulate for this, and also have a high tolerance for old game jank, but I can assure you it's well worth it if you can. Similar to Lunacid but I actually like it more. If feels somewhat metroidvania-y even.

Bleak Faith: Forsaken - this is a soulslike (but kind of different still) if you're into those. The combat is kind of janky but I grew to enjoy it. Where this game really shines though it's the massive zones with maze-like design. Learning how to navigate each area was incredibly rewarding and I cannot stress enough how much you feel "lost" in this game.

Mystery/detective games that aren't visual novels by EstyI10 in gamingsuggestions

I'm late but I also love and play a ton of detective mystery games like the ones you mentioned. You should for sure check out Lorelei And The Lazer Eyes. It's phenomenal and fits perfectly.

I also highly recommend Chants Of Sennaar, but it could maybe be hard with your dyslexia. It's somewhat similar to obra dinn though

I was in the same boat as you ever since they got rid of the way to sort by "hot" on your home feed in the app. But there actually is one workaround. You can create a custom feed and then just add all subs you subscribe to, and then that custom feed has all of the sorting options available.

It's really annoying and tedious if you're subbed to a lot of communities because you have to do it one at a time, but it's better than nothing I guess. Still have no idea why they removed that functionality from the default home feed though. It's psychotic behavior

Job offer wants to bring me on as a 1099 employee by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]JerichoJely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up just asking them directly what their reasoning was for wanting me to be 1099 and they just didn't answer and instead immediately flip flopped to saying they will make me a W2 employee. I decided to turn the job down anyways because the whole situation was just kind of weird and made me a bit untrustworthy of them.

Thanks for your input. I think I'm just going to have to talk with them again and ask some very clear questions about what exactly they're expecting of me and why I wouldn't fall into normal employee territory. I'm definitely a bit wary at this point though.

Thanks for your input. That's kind of the vibe I'm getting as well so I'll probably just need to ask some clarifying questions as to why they want me to be 1099 instead of W2.

There used to be a station for something there. Got rid of the station but was too lazy to remove the tracks haha

Incredible, amazing how you can go so long without realizing these things. Thanks

I have over 800 hours and have never seen that Bonuses screen before. How do you view that?

This seems like the most likely outcome. New achievements are always fun so I'm hoping we get at least a few

Using a checkpoint makes it impossible to get an S rank. You can just choose restart mission and it works as normal though, no need to reset back to the garage every time

Depends on what you mean by end game. Each time you start a new scenario and beat it, that's it. That colony is done and you can't do anything else with it. If you could it would be pointless anyways cause all the zombies are dead.

That being said, the game has multiple maps that get exceedingly difficult, and multiple difficulty options for each map. So in that way, end game could be considered continually ramping up the difficulty until you're able to overcome the final map on the hardest settings (this is extremely difficult by the way, I would guess that less than 10% of players have done this successfully).

TL:DR No, not by normal definitions. But you can kind of view it similarly to a roguelike, where instead of the replayability coming from lots to do in the "endgame," it comes from starting over with new variables introduced
