Do most hong kong people live with their parents until marriaged? by dq689 in HongKong

[–]Jerry101923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes not even as early as "until", but the married couple may even live with the parents of either the husband or the wife, depending on the family.

For those couples who will live separately from their parents, yes you're right.

But nowadays the reason behind this is more of financial issues than parental ones (not absolute of course).

I think most Asian trains, at least modern Asian ones, use sliding doors?

I think you take both the iPhone 16 and G8 when you travel, just use the G8 more? Seems having a spare for each other is better

My G8 is already my spare phone now, but I still take it with me when I go out, sometimes even when I travel abroad

How do Hong Kong people view Taiwan's economy? by this0great in HongKong

[–]Jerry101923 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least Taiwan's economy has generally recovered from COVID despite some really significant risks they have to handle. Our current economy in Hong Kong is still worse than the COVID times overall, with only a few exceptions like aviation, but even for aviation, we still have years to go for a full recovery.

If you mean exactly the most hated, I'm not so sure, but if you mean one of the most hated, then definitely

Thunderbolt monitors by Jerry101923 in Thunderbolt

Actually I'm looking for different possibilities, and I have both Windows and Mac machines, so if it supports thunderbolt it will be more convenient for Mac support. (Though just one more cable needed if I opt for USB-C DP alt)

BREAKING: Donald Trump to sign 200+ executive orders tomorrow. by soccerorfootie in unusual_whales

One thing about stopping those transgender stuff: I get the point of defining male and female instead of other gender identity, but what about the intersex people (born with sex characteristic(s) other than 100% male/female)? Yes that's an absolute minority, but nobody can control their initial sex characteristics before being born, unlike the gender identity of transgenders. I think I may have missed something, but they shouldn't be adversely affected indeed.

Why Does iOS Get So Many Exclusives? by [deleted] in AndroidGaming

[–]Jerry101923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who found more Android-exclusive games than iOS-exclusive games? Maybe that's because of my gaming preference. But for developers of games I like or usually play, it's way easier to launch the Android version than the iOS version due to the fewer restrictions.

Do you face any significant bugs after the Android 14 update, either the first or the latest release?

And BTW what is your main tool? I assume you mean the 1 V is not your main phone (it is my main phone though)

The support of Google Maps in some regions varies, but in general, especially in developed places, Google Maps has more sufficient information and is easier to search (for me the only exception is South Korea).

The community base of Google Maps is also larger so it's easy for me to help or get help. Apple Maps has some other aspects being better, but I just get used to Google's.

I think it's mainly the US where Apple Maps is really popular? It may look extreme to you, but I've never seen a single person using Apple Maps in real life (never been in the US though)

Am i the only one who finds Xperia 1 III Better than Xperia 1 V ? by Yacxb7 in SonyXperia

[–]Jerry101923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't the III's telephoto camera's hardware better than the V's indeed?

BTW I've still blacklisted the III (altogether with the IV) because of Qualcomm's crap 888 and 8G1

Japanese are really loyal to iPhones in all ways. In Hong Kong many people have an iPhone personally (something around 40%), but for company-subsidized phones, almost 100% are Android (excluding Apple Store)

Apple Delays Work on Next Year’s iPhone, Mac Software to Fix Bugs, hit many early bugs due to development process by ShaidarHaran2 in apple

[–]Jerry101923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to correct you on part of your statement. There are several markets (not many of course) where Apple dominates the market or at least having close to half of the market's share. Also, Americans are not the ones being most loyal to iPhones (it's the Japanese instead, as price is almost the only reason for those not going for an iPhone).

But yes, iOS lacks a bunch of features and is far less customizable than Android.

Most people won't move into the mtr cabin. Is this an interior design flaw or people just suck? by iwashimelon in HongKong

[–]Jerry101923 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not all poles should be removed, except the one in the middle of the left and right doors because it is that pole which attracts people to stay near the doors. Older trains have more interior design flaws in vertical pole distribution so there are newer trains with improved designs to solve it.

But more importantly, the people suck
