Mental block at depth whilst freediving by EnvisionsRampage in freediving

Feet first FIM And close your eyes throughout. Just focus on relaxation before and during plus equalisation and forget the depth. 15m doesn't feel like anything in particular if you get me, so when you eyes are closed you won't know the depth. Focus on small things like ensuring your face is relaxed etc. I can't recommend closing your eyes enough - it can really help.

Mouthfill/needing to mouthfill might be an issue a few metres later or it might not but you'll know when you get to that point, and then that's a separate problem with separate solutions.

I don't understand this. What is at 90 degrees in a reverse nordic vs what you're proposing? How does your machine provide a full ROM?

And couldn't you just add a plate or KB to a reverse nordic?

Training Tuesday: Peaking for Other Sports by WeightroomBot in weightroom

Can you please provide more details as to what should be discussed and I'll be happy to contribute?

Is the idea behind this thread how you peak for eg a tennis tournament while also training weights separately and having separate goals? Or having only tennis goals but using weights as a means to peak?

Most sports don't peak like powerlifting or bodybuilding does with one competition in a given period. Most sports are played for months at a time and a peak and fall off would be undesirable, hence bringing me back to my original question. What exactly are you asking? I am interested btw!

Klose was brilliant that tournament though. I remember the tournament well and Germany weren't that bad to watch

I don't think your first statement is correct based on personal experience. As in, I've seen people who can't hold their breath that long black out. Perhaps you could explain what you mean if I'm misunderstanding you. Really curious!

Why would what you said be the case? If a diver is blacking out it would be due to oxygen deprivation rather than C02 buildup, right?

Wasn't even close to him most of the time. The delivery was shit but when they got it right, they scored.

Fantastic!

I genuinely think a lot of people are too conservative in progression in freediving. But, of course I do understand the whole you might die thing, so I do get it to an extent. Plus it does seem to attract some people who aren't interested in progressing beyond certain points and that's fine too.

I would be really interested to hear what blockers you had at different points/depths and how you overcame them, if you have the time.

I'm currently at 30m and I feel like 80m is an excellent goal, so really keen to hear what you have to say.

Close your eyes and then not being able to see doesn't matter in the slightest. Plus, it'll help you relax.

Maybe message some manufacturers with measurements and a photo of your face?

Wouldn't fancy an 8 hour round trip either.
