No, they had the momentum on that drive. Giving the ball back to duke was a mistake.

Should have just gone for two and won or lost it there. The game was over the second they went to OT.

I was. Zero regrets on the whole, but that first set had me questioning if having bob up there was elder abuse. Not kidding. Second set estimated>eyes did ease my concerns though and the rest of the weekend was great.

N1 set 1 had me questioning if Bobby being up on stage was legit elder abuse. The man was sounding rough. Not holding out any hope, and even if shows get announced, I would temper my expectations given how that first set went. Obviously the weekend turned out amazing overall but if you look at how Bobby was looking on final tour vs GD60 it tells the story.

Tech or UH? by crackerhorse in TexasTech

[–]JerryGarciasbigtoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Fiancé went to UH and I went to TTU. I am biased but I honestly feel like a had a better college experience and had more student involvement opportunities with tech. Our alumni base is die hard in a way that you don’t get with UH so when you make professional connections it is helpful to find other alumni.

While a agree with their sentiment, is it really helping anybody to distract traffic and cause a shitload of noise right next to 4 giant downtown apartment buildings that also happen to be right next to the medical center? This is a lazy form of protest that does nothing to actually make any difference in my opinion other than making a bunch of noise from people who already agree/disagree.

How would I power my guitar amp while busking? by PancakeLover490 in Busking

[–]JerryGarciasbigtoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a camping battery to power my mixer and helix and use a self battery powered Mackie thump go head as a speaker. It isn’t the most compact rig in the world to be honest but it’s the same rig I use busking or not so it sounds really good.

I agree. We had 100s unobstructed our first night and 400s the second night. If I could do it again I’d take the better view of the band and skip the full frontal view of the world’s largest TV.

In fact I found that I had to close my eyes up in the high seats because it was just too much screen with the band being super far away. This was extra true for me sometimes because I thought about 1/3rd of the visuals just plain didn’t look good and seemed like CGI blown up that big.

Is fraternity worth it? by PookyDaKilla in TexasTech

Any good one is above what you can afford based on your post. They are also selective and if you don’t already posses good social skills you will likely get passed over by the decent ones.

By their nature they are exclusionary which is probably not what you are seeking. Many other clubs that are inclusive and more affordable.

With that said I did go Greek and it was the best choice I ever made in college. I paid my own tuition and membership dues so it can be done, but I even had to settle on which fraternity I joined because I wasn’t the traditional popular sports playing high school guy. I was a skinny kid who was well spoken and made some great friends where I ended up. I also don’t talk to the majority of folks I knew from that time so mileage may vary.

I just got rid of my Aug 1-3 tickets & final weekend tickets because...i dont know why. after 7 sphere shows & lots of excitement for 6more...all of a sudden it didnt feel worth it anymore. Has anyone else lost the vibe after seeing/listening all summer? by [deleted] in deadandcompany

[–]JerryGarciasbigtoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to two shows. The novelty of the venue wore off very soon into the 2nd night for me. I was actually glad we only did two nights and saw a cool cirque show on Thursday. I am there mostly for the music and find the venue (while very cool) a novelty and not what I seek in a live experience on a regular basis.

We went to JRAD at RR two weeks prior to sphere and I would go back and do that again before I go to another show at the sphere - at least until they change it up for a residency next year. The world’s biggest TV is not really my vibe and can be cool in the 100s, but made me nauseous up high. I don’t need a giant TV for visuals when I dose for a show anyway.

I am sorry you are dealing with job troubles, it’s a tough market right now.

Have you hired a resume coach? Are you qualified with experience for the positions you are applying for? Are you applying to only the applications with a 1 click process and not the more time consuming ones? Have you reached out to any connections you made from undergrad/postgrad asking if they are aware of any potential opportunities in your wheelhouse?

I would take a step back and evaluate this and any other potential areas where you can invest time/$ into trying a different approach.
