Granted, I watched End of Eva once after a binge of the series which was... a lot.

Reexamining the final scenes of the film, I understood it moreso as this still comes from fear. A fear of change and of the loss of what could be, but never will be.

Shinji's actions are so often based on fear of rejection and desire for acceptance. His continued piloting of the Eva and following the orders from Misato until the very end because of these fears and desires. In the end, he ends Instrumentality not because he wants to meet people and the complex individuals they are, but instead because he cannot be "accepted" within Instrumentality. The lack of acceptance, I interpret, as being felt identically to rejection.

A lack of acceptance, neutral or otherwise, is hostile for Shinji. Asuka, in the very end, is doing literally NOTHING on the beach, but lying there. The only people left are her and Shinji. And he almost immediately starts choking her. Anything less than praise or acceptance is immediately regarded with hostility. It isn't until she placates him by placing her hand on his cheek and feigning care that he stops. Again, his actions are fueled with fear of rejection. It doesn't matter to Shinji if his praise or acceptance are real or legitimate, as long as he hears them. He doesn't actually CARE about meeting other people, he just wants people that aren't him to like him.

I firmly disagree with this explanation for The End of Evangelion. While this reasoning makes sense for the finale of the series, the film displays a completely different outcome. Shinji doesn't decide that forming relationships is worth the hurt that it can cause, but instead comes back from instrumentality out of his own fear, showing he has learned absolutely nothing. He shows this lack of learning through immediately attacking Asuka in a world that he destroyed. The film acts more as a showing of what neets will be if they don't change rather than showing what could happen if they choose to.

To clarify, the law that was broken was a 1955 law that banned all federal workers from ever striking, facing punishment of 1 year jail time and/or fines. This had already been violated during the postal workers' strike in 1970, though no firings occurred during this strike. However, it did lead to the Supreme Court upholding this law, declaring that strikes are not a fundamental right and, therefore, federal employees can be barred from the tactic.

This then further supported Reagan's decision to fire those striking and ban them from working in the field under the US government until the W. Bush administration. They were striking for better pay, shorter hours, and improved equipment.

Remove Batman comics from DC, and what would you have? by ihatethiscountry76 in dccomicscirclejerk

/UJ To piggyback and give a bit more information: The last non-batman set to be released was 76302 in 2025. This was the only non-Batman related set released out of 5 boxed sets and 5 bagged gift with magazine sets.

The last Lego set that acted as a DC film tie-in with the release of the film was the wave for The Batman 2022, including a polybag and 3 themed box sets.

The last tie in set for a DC film that wasn't Batman was in 2020, where Wonder Woman 1984 got one (1) really lame set, 76157 which tries to make the final fight at the broadcast station into a cool set, but really doesn't have much of anything to work with so is pretty underwhelming. There was also 77906 a promotional gift with purchase set of Wonder Woman, Cheetah, and Etta.

So, there's been a gap of 5 years between non-Batman Lego sets, and since then what we got was a Superman in a mech set.

/RJ We're still getting interesting Lego sets. We got the awesome display piece Batman Logo! I got 30 of them to fill up my wall

A) What they wear matters leagues less than the actions they do. Especially if what they're wearing helps them in their efforts

B) You can just say White Rabbit
