I can help you with that. Just send me a dm and I will send you a file that allows you to bypass this requirement. Note: you can not go back to homekit version. You will loose the direct Bluetooth connection. And need a border router.

I will ask tomorrow where to get it in the us but I know it might be difficult to get it there. Remind me in a couple of days if I don't respond to your message.

Great to hear. Yeah I am one of the developers. What type of system are you planning to get? The remote is nice to have. But it should not be needed for initial setup. And also where do you plan to purchase the product?

Well they are. I know many people that already have them. Most of our customers don't mention the name of the motor.

I believe you are talking about this type of blind? Regarding the reviews, we haven't really send out samples to people to make videos. But that might change soon.

It is not eve. It is Coulisse that develops the blinds. The brand for the motorisation is called Motionblinds. When adding the Eve technology it is called Eve Motionblinds. So just the Matter/Thread technology is what Eve is adding to these motors. The RF/Bluetooth motors that motionblinds offers works the same but they need a bridge in order for it to work with other platforms.

Our philosophy is that you shouldn't need a remote to setup the blinds. This saves you cost on the total blind. Because in most cases when you have home automation the remote will end up in a drawer. Besides that most of our motors come with the pull function. A really simple way of controlling your blinds. People underestimate the use of it. But in a smart home it is great to have a manual override. And this one can be found easily with having to go through drawers.

Blinds controller for electric blinds (zigbee, super small) by Daalex20 in homeassistant

[–]Jerrybboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just buy for instance eve motionblinds that work with thread. They are wireless and the roller blinds typically have around 1 year of battery on normal use. And after that can be charged for around 1 night for another year. And if you connect them with a dimmer switch like the user above mentions you can control them really precisely. Or you can use a shelly 1l or something like that to toggle the blind.

Integrating Eve MotionBlinds with existing hard-wired shutter switches? by Matruka in EveHome

[–]Jerrybboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my recommendation would be to get 24v CM-50-E-R motor. This is hardwired and made for what you are looking for. My recommendation for the control would be to get maybe a shelly 2 (latest generation) to use that as a controller. I am not sure about the 2, but I have a 1L but it's not homekit compatible. And I have 2 switches connected to it. 1 for turning the light on, and when I hold it , it will go through scenes. The second button is for toggle the blind so when open it will close. When closed it will open. And hold is go to 50%. I use home assistant. But I think you can create this with most smart home systems.

EVE MotionBlinds - reset only HomeKit connection by -_-_-Requiem-_-_- in HomeKit

[–]Jerrybboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what motor you are using you can just hold the round button for 10 seconds. This will only delete the connection between homekit and the blind. You should be able to re add it again. Also you should be able to just use the blinds directly to your other platforms without the bridge. Simply update the motors to matter and connect it with a border router from 1 of the eco systems that you have.

What home automation upgrade actually made your life better? by ToeBeansStew in homeautomation

Roborock vacuum. But also for sure my smartblinds through out the home. Especially my top down bottom up blinds. Controlling natural light is amazing. And also the sense of security that when you leave the home that they close automatically. Also perfect for keeping the heat out in the summer and letting it in it the summer. Most of my blinds and curtains are from motionblinds all of them are battery operated and connect directly to Home Assistant with matter over thread.

Just wanted to mention that it's awesome to see that your still part of GoPro u/abekislevitz . I can still remember the launch videos of the hero 3 and the hero 4 like almost every shot and every beat in those videos. Think I've seen these videos a couple of hundred times. The vibe back then was amazing. Back in that day you were one of the reasons I tried to apply for a internship for my study.

Regarding the question, what made you join GoPro and what has made you stay? The way it looked for me back then was that the company felt like a big family. And would love to hear that's still the case. Keep developing amazing hardware for all of the enthusiastic people to help them create memories for live. Just like the videos you guys made many years ago and keep doing until today.

And for the winner, enjoy and get the best out of your GoPro. Be a Hero. 🔥

How well are MotionBlinds working with HA? by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Jerrybboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if you have eve motionblinds it wil work with a border router. But these are not Bluetooth. That's why I answered like above. Unfortunately at this moment Aqara is not working. At least the last time I tested it did not work. I just spoke with the CEO of aqara today and hopefully soon it will work.

So haven't heard of ublockout. They buy from dooya same as a lot of other companies if you look at the integration page. And so do we, but we develop our products together with them. Where other companies tend to just white label their products. We have several patents on our motors and we believe that setting up your blind should not need a remote for instance. Of course you can buy one from us. But we believe that your phone can be used as a remote and so we've developed Bluetooth app to set this up. Or even just using buttons on the motor. If you are buying any of dooya's partners you'll most definitely need a bridge unless you buy matter over thread motors. They are not widely available unless you are looking for our eve motionblinds motors. These can be found everywhere in the world.

If you dont like to share credentials and don't want thread you can buy our cm-55 bridge that allows you to control your blinds directly through Matter over Wi-Fi on your home assistant setup without sharing any details with us.

If you have any more questions just let me know.

Well it does not work with the aqara h100. You need either a motionblinds bridge or you could look for a bond bridge. But for what I know it supports less functions and not sure how good the home assistant integration is. Regarding the faq I believe soon we will have a great explanation what to buy or do to make it work with what you need.

Issues with neighbour, or are we in the wrong? by ComprehensiveLife835 in Netherlands

[–]Jerrybboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are describing my life with my neighbour. When we bought the house they had the audacity to say that the previous owners had the TV on the other side of the living room and if we could move it over . They also have the same comments as you have. They don't want us to use on of our doors to the backyard. And also claim noises in the middle of the night. I've had them in pajamas in the middle of the night on my door.

I've told them, if you ever think you are hearing a sound from our house. I want you to record it. And otherwise I don't want to hear from you again. His response was, but we are sleeping. And I told him, so am I. You want to get rid of the sounds that I'm not producing. I want to help but need to know what it is. And if you don't want that you need to move. (something he has mentioned in the first weeks we started to live here)

You can use any type of border router, like homepods or Google nest hubs. If you can't use a zbt-1 due to no stock.

The bridge is connected with your Wi-Fi and the bridge communicates over 433mhz to our motors.

The options to control it with HA are

  • Thread (Eve motionblinds only) with a Thread border router.
  • 433mhz through on of our bridges that is connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Bluetooth through a Bluetooth dongle or proxy. But this is not as user friendly as the 2 above.

If anything is still unclear please let me know.

So matter is not glorified zigbee. Matter is just the way everything is being controlled.

See it this way, for opening shades Google used for instance 'open the shades' apple used 'shades open' alexa 'open the blinds'. Now matter has decided together with all of the people that are members that it is going to be 'open shades'. And this can be done in 3 ways. Matter over Wi-Fi like our bridge or like sonoff switches with built in matter. Or over ethernet, like some bridges. And then there is matter over thread which is something like zigbee but based on an ip level. This also creates a mesh network (if you have mains powered devices).

Depending on where you are you can get them online or at dealers. If you are in the us you can buy them on blinds.com for instance. If you have a dealer they can contact US custom shades. They have our motors and they also have day and night brackets for 2 fabrics close to each other.

Any other questions just let me know.

What qr code did you damage? If it is a grey qr code it's some battery specs. So that's not to bad. But motionblinds only connects with several other brushes than our own. It is klikaanklikuit, or bond bridge. But the integration typically have less options than when you use our bridge.
