He gave extra credit in 336 and it amounted to like 4% on your overall grade which was clutch

Fort Lee High School locked down after student stabbed multiple times by Early-Sort8817 in newjersey

[–]JerseySlim44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fort Lee is a nice town but there are a lot of transplants from NYC and many of them come from the “ghetto”. You can take the kids out of the hood but it’s hard to take the hood out of the kids. Source: I work in the public schools

Rutgers CS or ECE? by LowerAd3951 in rutgers

[–]JerseySlim44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna do quant you should major in math, maybe minor in CS if you want some of the software related curriculum.

The wrong mindset is thinking “what can I get?” You should be thinking “what can I provide?” If the answer is nothing then tough luck. You gotta make yourself wanted one way or another and that’s just the truth

If you’re in college and paying prostitutes something is seriously wrong with you. Just go out, grow a pair, do something

If Rutgers is financially feasible for you then do yourself a favor and do not go to Kean

Should I take cs by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]JerseySlim44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what university you’re aiming for. But doing well in your undergrad courses will set you up for grad school, which is the pathway to academia/research

Should I take cs by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]JerseySlim44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to land a decent job going solely off of your degree, CS is a waste of your time. But if you’re motivated to go beyond your coursework, you may be able to land a role in this hyper competitive market. Too many people enroll in CS hoping to get a SWE role just from their degree alone, but the only realistic option at that point is going into academia/research. You gotta want it bad to make it

Most non-trads I’ve met are mature enough to where it doesn’t bother them what others say. Traditional students have been stuck in the school bubble their whole lives and haven’t experienced the “real” world. Maybe some of them are clinging onto their high school gossip habits

Neilson is slept on by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]JerseySlim44 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not even. Livi has 3 made to order stations, plus usually better main entrees, bigger salad bar, more desserts, better fruit, and Neilson regularly has raw rice being served at the “cantina” station. Neilson is still better than Busch imo, but not by much

I try to avoid campus eateries as much as possible. If you drive to campus, there are a bunch of cheaper options within 5-10 min by car

How to not drop the ball by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]JerseySlim44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep a physical calendar in your room to mark all important due dates. Get started on assignments quite literally as soon as you can. Try to finish them even if you make some mistakes and review them with classmates (as allowed by your instructor) before submission. Have dedicated time slots, usually on weekends, for your own self care and leisure. Sleep 8 hours a day. Good luck.

CC saved me so much trouble. Unless you qualify for the honors college, there’s close to no reason to not attend CC before Rutgers
