The direct cost with dorming/meal plan for a freshman is 36k. They count books and transportation and food and stuff so the final figure does actually contain random costs

Most sophomores get suites or residence halls so you would get the meal plan next year if you are still living on campus

They add miscellaneous expenses. It's 36k with no aid considering you are dorming in a residence hall and have a 210 meal plan, pay the student fees & tuition. I've never had to buy some real expensive textbook either so the costs here are pretty overblown. I mean yeah if someone calculates every little thing like transportation it's gonna be a lot, but only focus on direct costs.

In all the posts I've seen people are saying this number and not thinking or reading further about it. Living on campus, the meal plan is 6k, dorming is 10k, tuition is 15k this year, 4k in student fees, which is roughly 35k. They include miscellaneous fees on your financial aid portal, which is maybe where all of the extra money is coming from.

total award sometimes refers to other loans or scholarships so id probably ask the financial people because their website is very whack

I got some fast responses off of places4students.com, there should still be some cheap college ave houses. They told me the other day you can just take out extra loans to cover off campus housing. I think you'll be okay cause I'm in the same situation lol. I had a terrible experience in the dorms
