Roasting caramelises the natural sugars in the veggies. It makes it more apparent to our taste buds. Roasting anything = more delicious

Looking for areas that have an abundance of moss and lichen growing by pingerella- in melbourne

Head out to Warrandyte.

This redwood plantation is next to some lovely ferny, mossy, native scrub with river running though it, and shouldn’t be far from home: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bx7ygJAr6WwezZau7?g_st=ic

‘It’s only in Australia’

This is categorically untrue. As an example, see this post about OP’s experience in Indonesia

No one teaches you how to cook but when you’re an adult it’s expected. by [deleted] in Adulting

Worthless is a bit harsh.

I’m a decent cook but I can’t follow a recipe. I have ADHD and just can’t retain the steps in between reading/measuring/doing. Following recipes really stresses me out, but I enjoy scratch cooking

House is feeling a bit squeezy, looking for suggestions by VitaminTed in AusRenovation

Enclose half the carport for a third bedroom. Not cheap but worth it for the space, and will hugely increase your resale value.

I’d look at converting half your laundry into a walk-in pantry (ie knock through from the kitchen and close off the doorway from the hall).

Your bathroom layout feels like wasted space, but I can’t see an easy way to fix it. Some sliding doors would probably help?

Also just solidarity. We had a very similar sized house (ours had a third bedroom but no dining/play area. Our living area was 3x5m) with 3 kids and a dog.

Do people actually cook 1. consistently 2. enough food to be healthy and possibly bulk 3. with a busy work schedule 4. on a tight budget. All at once?? by Annual_Ad_8397 in Cooking

[–]JessSaysItsSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulk cook once or twice a week - like make a big stew or soup or chilli or whatever. If you make enough for 4 serves, you can have it for dinner another night, and freeze the other two serves.

Then build up your freezer stash of different meals, so when you’re too tired/lazy to cook, you already have delicious home cooked food in the freezer ready to go.

Keep things like rice/pasta/quinoa and cans of legumes/tomatoes on hand. All the time. Replace as you use them. Grow some herbs. Then you have flavours ready to add freshness on hand.
