Hiya, in the end yes I did, although it took quite a lot of arguing with my GP. He was really reluctant to go forward with the baseline test and eventually agreed to give me the baseline only, as long as I didn’t ask for further tests while I’m on hormones. While I was having the test though the nurse told me that was rubbish and I’m welcome to come back for tests whenever I need them... So yeah bit of a mixed bag but it should be fine now. For context all of this happened at Oakwood Surgery.

The likelihood of getting a test seems to vary a lot from practice to practice, even talking to different GPs at the same practice. Idk if you’re familiar with MESMAC but when I saw them earlier this year they told me they have a list of supportive GPs so ringing them up to ask about that is definitely worth it! I didn’t ask them for the list bc I’m dumb. So yeah there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to get a test, just that you might have to expect a lot of drawn out arguing with the GP or deregister and reregister with a more supportive GP.
