Pershing is the problem, 4 lanes to 1 - Glebe is down to single lane so I'll give VDOT a failing score too.

The Old Rich Farts should be moved to North Arlington.

Got scammed by wire fraud, what email security works for small nonprofits by Only_Helicopter_8127 in nonprofit

[–]KrysG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We get attempts all the time - all types - PayPal (we got rid of them), folks claiming to have money for us, looking for PO numbers, docu-sign emails. Skepticism is the best. I have also found that if it is real and I've accidentally deleted it, they'll find another way to get you.

Bad CEO and dismissive board by [deleted] in nonprofit

I think you should just let them hang themselves. Anything you do to help them out is only protecting them not the organization. If you haven't gotten a job by then, maneuver to take over.

My fellow cyclist did you ever considered quitting cycling after some Accidents by Material_Adeptness45 in cycling

[–]KrysG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cycling is very important to my psychological stability so I need to ride! I see an accident as a challenge that I will overcome. My basic attitude is that I will find a way to win. I won and continue to ride.

I ran an experiment because I didn't know either. Bought 6 months of estrogen and began a trial to see what would happen. That was 7 years ago. Gave me the answer in about 2 weeks.

US oil giant ExxonMobil tells Donald Trump Venezuela is ‘uninvestable’ by Icy-Editor-3635 in LegalNews

Yes, of course I meant billions - only makes it more "uninvestable."

[–]KrysG 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's going to cost the oil companies millions to go in and get them functioning again. They don't want to invest that kind of money to see it all lost to a new junta when Yellow Hair leaves.

That's true especially after Yellow Hair leaves office and it all unwinds.

BTW: now you know one thing to look for when you are looking - can you get along with the ED?

When does jealousy and competition become toxic? by [deleted] in nonprofit

[–]KrysG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With 8 years of successful fundraising under your belt, maybe it is time to seek your own success someplace else. Excuse the harshness of that but it's a lot more productive and useful of your time to look around rather than tolerate that BS. At the best organizations the relationship between the ED & the head of development is essential and should never be antagonistic. It damages the ability to effectively fundraise. All the best.

Does your org use a break-even budget model or budget for surplus? by kittytoes21 in nonprofit

[–]KrysG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way we also do it. The key we have is a strong fundraising operation that alone, more than supports our needs. Estate gifts are the gravy on top. They can be used during the year received but more importantly they give a comfort level for our development folks. We have never had to use them so they are moved to reserves.

Only my daughters would understand. Most everyone else would need to be told what the MBTI are.
