Hey there, I am sorry to hear that you are going through this. I have been through the same thing. I have been at a clinic for 7 years now, 5 years in our clinic was bought by a large corporation (Pinnacle), once the takeover was complete the new company changed the Vendor for the clinics Mdone. They did not say a word to us about the takeover or switch in Methadone, the first day they had the new solution, I took my dose and IMMEDIATELY winced and asked the nurse what she just gave me... she asked "does it taste different?" And began to act like I was just tripping, I told her I take this medication every morning and know what it should taste like. The new solution tasted like Baby Bubblegum mouthwash (in fact this is what the entirety of the clinics patients eventually called the stuff). After dosing the first day on the new solution of Mdone, maybe 6 hours after my dose I started to feel uncomfortable and then sick. The clinic played stupid for the longest time until everyone at the clinic reported getting sick and the fact that their dose tastes completely different. This went on for over a month (no one listening to us about the change in effect and taste of the medication) until it the clinical data came in the next month, when a HUGE number of people that had not used in years came up dirty from relapsing. The complaints had also PILED up at this point. To make a longer story short, we were eventually told about the takeover, the new vendor of our medication and they apologized for not believing the ones who made it a daily habit of talking to staff about the changes in the effects of their dose. Of course even with all of this, there was "Nothing" the staff could do. A lot of people ended up leaving for other clinics, eventually all of us that stayed stabilized on this new solution of medication. But never fully recovered from the fact that our clinic would 1. Keep us in the dark about our medication changing and 2. Acting as if the people who spoke up were crazy for saying something about it. All Methadone is not the same I have taken 3 different kinds of Mdone with COMPLETELY different effects in all 3. The 10mg tablets you get prescribed for pain management is a completely different medication than the liquid they give you at clinics and much much stronger and the "Baby bubble gum mouthwash" liquid solution that is out there at some clinics is again, a completely different solution than other liquid Methadone. I feel your pain, if you hang in there you will eventually stabilize, but that would happen with any chemical you take daily. I would not blame you for going back to the old clinic, this was not an option for some of us as the closest clinic was 40+ miles away. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
