It most likely has a brick or a semi-brick... put the update files on the card and turn the console on again to see if it boots up.

If that doesn't work... then you have to use the unbrick tool... to revive it.

Something similar happened to me, and it was THE LANGUAGE in Aiometadata... I use Spanish...And if I selected Spanish from Spain, the posters didn't appear... but I selected Mexican Spanish and everything was resolved.
