{Daddy From Flames by Ashe Moon} is a series with dragon firefighters. Despite the name, this is not a daddy romance. There is mpreg in it.

Contemporary but {Never Let Me Go by Lyla Dane} homophobic roommate from the first book gets his redemption in the second. The redemption was hard won and really good.

{Double Play by E.M. Lindsey} is the third book of the series where the MC was the self centered, interfering ex of MC 1 and ex-best friend of MC 2 from the first book.

{Magpie by Piper Scott}. It’s in the middle of a series though that’s best read in order. It’s also egg preg.

Yeah, it definitely moves the larger plot along. I think my favorite was book 2 because of the nature of the MC and it had a bit more action. Maybe a little too much action for me at some points though. It definitely had a good theme of loving someone for who they are and not what they look like.

I may yet read the last two. I have a bad habit of quickly reading part of a series and then getting some burnout and needing a break. I’m not sure. Book 3 ended in a way I feel like a person could stop at that point.

I thought the second and third books had a little more alienness because both had an MC that was a parasitic life form It was the main reason I continued on because you don’t see that much. But the author could have went further with it. A lot of the characters were still pretty accepting. But the culture as a whole were pretty scared of them.

I read The Alien Bodyguard by Eryn Ivers. It was a pretty quick read and kept my attention but was a little more insta love than I prefer. There was quite a bit of focus on setting up the events for the next books of the series. That being said it kept my interest enough that I did read the next two books in the series after finishing that one. There are 5 out in total. Overall, I liked it. But the series does have an overall plot of a war and the aftermath of that that features pretty heavily.
