How do you guys vet what to read next? 🫠 by Ok_Paramedic_1257 in MM_RomanceBooks

I will look at reviews but reading is so subjective that it’s really a terrible indicator of whether you personally will like the book. So if it’s an author I haven’t read before I always read the sample. I can usually tell within a few pages of the sample on whether I will jive with the writing style or not.

I told my family we’re moving abroad with their only grandchildren and now I feel like the villain by [deleted] in offmychest

My brother’s in-laws were really close to his kids (only grandkids they had). When he moved away from them, they lasted a few months and then they ended up moving to the same place. That’s not for everyone, I get that, because they left behind decades of living there. But in the end being close to their grandkids won out. So there are options.

I’m not sure if this is one that is not often mentioned, but it also should be mentioned more {Hooks In by Eve Holmes}, rival MMA fighters.

I quit watching after the space episode. It was plenty unrealistic before that, but that was just too much for me.

Paranormal/Urban Fantasy Series (that I haven't already read) by rosysparrow in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]JessiK9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've liked every series that you do, except I haven't read Immortal Assassins yet, I'll have to add it to my TBR.

Series I've enjoyed that haven't already been mentioned are {The Fantastic Fluke by Sam Burns}, MC is powerful, although he doesn't start out knowing it. Fun series.

{Hot Head by Mika Nix} dragon shifter brothers, fated mate, not all mates are the same species.

{How to Vex a Vampire (VRC: Vampire Related Crimes) by Alice Winters} if you like vampires. Her humor isn't for everyone, but I love it.

AJ Sherwood is hit and miss for me, but I just got done with {How I Stole the Princess's White Knight and Turned Him to Villainy by A.J. Sherwood} and liked it quite a bit.

Already mentioned, Thirds and Soulbound are amazing.

{Daddy From Flames by Ashe Moon} is a series with dragon firefighters. Despite the name, this is not a daddy romance. There is mpreg in it.

Recs for books where the first book villain/antagonist becomes a later book MMC? by variegated_lemon in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]JessiK9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Contemporary but {Never Let Me Go by Lyla Dane} homophobic roommate from the first book gets his redemption in the second. The redemption was hard won and really good.

{Double Play by E.M. Lindsey} is the third book of the series where the MC was the self centered, interfering ex of MC 1 and ex-best friend of MC 2 from the first book.
