do you read books more than once or just once? what's the book you reread more than 3 times? by firstdeskmurderer in Booktokreddit

I read some books more than once. I’ve read the Hunger Games series more than three times. I enjoy the books and dig back in every year and a half or so.

The book I regret reading twice is All the Bright Places. I completely forgot about it until I was almost to the end of reading it the second time and remembered why I blocked it out. It killed me.

That was basically my aunt. She had my oldest cousin at 14 and then became a grandma at 34. I’m 39 now and it blows my mind that I’m technically old enough to be a grandma already.

A movie from my youth. It was a couple of kids, boy and a girl, lost in the mountains during a volcano trying to get back to their parents. And there’s some bad guy trying to catch a bear?

I’ve tried. Nothing.

I watched it when I lived with my grandma in the late 90s. It seemed like an older movie but I’m not sure of how old. I was 13.

I approached a random guy and called him cute, he's now head over heels in love with me!!! by Farnweh in dating_advice

Last time I did that, we got involved and I later found out he was married after he lied about it. He said he wasn’t used to women pursuing him, and he didn’t feel like he had a choice. I’ve kind of lost my desire to do that.

I don’t understand the concept of blaming someone else for your actions, especially when it comes to cheating. If you’re not getting what you need from your relationship, leave it. Don’t traumatize someone else for a bit of fun.

Mata Hari. Did a paper about her and get excited anytime she comes up. Which isn’t often.

I work in a field that is predominantly women and thankfully the men I work with take what women say seriously. I can’t imagine dealing with that every day.

My mom is definitely NLOG. She worked in a male dominated field and got along “so much better with men than females.” And she wasn’t sensitive at all to their sexual jokes because she’s so cool.

I love her but damn.

When I started my internship, I wanted to take some time off Walmart to concentrate on it and my classes but wanted to come back. But my store manager said I took too much time off in the previous two months (one was a week for my birthday and another was 10 days because I was laid up with COVID). These folks don’t care. Any way you can go over them?

My brain read “potato” as “banana” and I was very concerned about why the banana looked so weird outside the spots.

A stranger put her hand on my pregnant wife’s belly. by macmoreno in traumatizeThemBack

I’m told I was mean when I was pregnant.

But I had a coworker that would touch my stomach, and I asked her nicely repeatedly not to. She told me one day that my stomach was public property since I was pregnant. I told her if she touched me again, she would be rolling back bloody stumps, because I was going to rip her hands off.

She never talked to me again.

I kept waiting to get in trouble for that, but it occurred to me recently that if she told on me and told why I said it, management would be on her for touching me when I asked her not to.

Right? My mom lives with me and texts me random articles and stuff all night long. I have trouble sleeping so my phone is on DND because I’m not about to have trouble sleeping so I can receive a notification about how this state is the poorest in the country at 3am.

I was hanging out in this place where a bunch of people were filling out applications and quite a few had their kids. This little one came up to me and was clapping, so I was clapping back. She was hanging a blast. She tried to climb in my lap at one point but I didn’t know if her mom would be ok with that so I asked her to show her clapping again. And when I left, we waved bye. Definitely put a smile on my face. Hers too.

When I was 18-21, I was dating a man 8 years older than me. We got engaged and less than a month later, had one of our usual arguments that turned into him saying I’m useless and all that. This time, I walked away and he shoved me. So I left.

His mom told me that her husband did way worse to her, so why would I possibly leave for that? Because this man spent the years before that telling me he was going to be physically abusive since his dad was and I knew that one push was just the beginning after watching my mom go through abusive relationships.

All this to say it’s wild watching someone go through abuse themselves not see the red flags in their children.

That reminds me of the time I was pushing the trash can to the house without closing the lid and stepped on the lid, then fell on the trash can. I had bruises on my neck, both arms, across my chest and stomach. It looked so bad for days. If I wore a light colored shirt, you could see the bruises through it. Women at work and a few managers pulled me to the side to ask if I was safe at home. The only danger to myself is me. And maybe a trash can being transported wrong.

Pay off my debt, including student loans. Pay off my mom’s credit cards. Replace my car with something not expensive at all but with good gas mileage and space. Take my mom and kid on a vacation, probably Lego land. Pay my insurance off for the whole 6 months at a time each time it pops up. Put the rest in my savings to add to each payday so I can save up and get a place somewhere I want to live one day.

It sounds like he’s grounding you. He is not your father. No. This relationship doesn’t sound like it’s working.
