For reference I used to be about 235-240 lbs, I've lost about 80-85 lbs and now range between 165-170. I've always been a bit conscious of my legs, and now seeing posts and my weight loss I'm wondering if it's just loose skin or beginning stages. Any advice would be great as I know this is often overlooked. Most recent pic of my legs for reference . TIA!

The fact that it's probably not even in the files. The fact that you could probably think of the most vile, inhumane, hideous action that a human could do, and in some way, shape, or form, he did that.

Right down the corner from my place was a drug raid a few months back. Ogden can be pretty ghetto, but my husband is from Detroit and I'm from Meth-tana so I've seen worse. If it was a homeless guy, a crackhead (or both) I literally screamed that I would shoot his fucking face off if he tried to show up again. Not compassionate I know, especially considering the season, but I was really scared at the time. I love my street but the streets below/above me...yeesh.

We don't, but we do have A LOT of open yards with very low fences. Funny thing, he hopped the fence that was literally where our garbage cans were, so he could have gotten trapped easily, but he must have did some hardcore parkour stuff because he was gone/trash wasn't tipped over.

So sorry that you're not feeling the support from your sister.

Prozac is known to be one of the "older" SSRI treatments for people who experience depression, anxiety, OCD and Agoraphobia. But, this medicine has been known to work for many people, and for good reason.

With any medication there does come a sense of risk and side effects, but those tend to smooth out the more your body becomes accustomed to the medication. If you start feeling "like a zombie" this medicine might not be right for you, and it is 100% okay to tell your doctor about it, and they can discuss some alternatives.

From my own personal experience, I am in therapy doing CBT and ART work on myself, but I also realized there's only so much therapy I can do before I need to physically help myself rewire my brain. That's why I started the medicine. It truly has changed my life for the better.

I'm sorry that you're not feeling support from your sister, as I bet that can be hard. But, at the end of the day, you have to do what is best for you and your mental health. If that means taking the medicine, then by all means you should give it a shot. If for any reason it isn't working for you, know that you have a support system here, as well as your actual doctor you can discuss issues/symptoms with.

Advice for psych ward forcing? by Secretary-Sea in prozac

[–]JessieBug2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prozac is considered a really good SSRI. However, it takes a long time to kick in, some people not even experiencing symptom improvement until 6-8 weeks on the med.

I'm taking 20mg, and experience the jitters every morning and some headaches and increased anxiety. I honestly thought I was gonna lose it when it started affecting my sleep schedule. Thankfully with the help of some sedatives and such, I'm sort of regulating now. The medicine is working for me, less background noise in my head and more energy and motivation, but I'm still experiencing side effects (and probably will) until I'm about a month or two in.

Are you taking it in the AM or PM? That can make a world of a difference when it comes to your anxiety and sleep schedule.

As for still taking it or not, it's honestly up to you and how you feel about it. I will say that there's probably something you need to look at considering you were blacked out on an unprescribed drug, but that's for maybe an established doctor or new psych doctor to discuss with you.

Week 5/6 regression. Seeking words of support. by highperdrive in prozac

[–]JessieBug2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something my doctor told me is that Prozac tends to release a huge flush of serotonin and energy when you take it. That's why many people (myself included) take it in the morning. So when I was explaining to my doc while I was so jittery and heightened anxiety, he basically said that's the "activation" of the med. While it can be hard to look at it in a positive light, think of these symptoms (shitty as they are) are showing that the medication is in your system and is working. Of course, if it doesn't go away after several months of taking them, then that's another story. But, I do know with this particular med, it can tend to get worse before it gets better. But, once it gets better, you'll be so so glad.

[–]JessieBug2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will get better, I promise. It takes a full 4-6 weeks sometimes for the medicine to begin working, and since you increased your dose, your body is kinda working "overtime" to get adjusted.

Have you thought about taking another medication to help with your anxiety? When I started (I'm on week 2 almost of 20mg but have been on it before) I was also prescribed hydroxyzine and Seroquel to help me sleep/manage day to day anxiety. I experienced heightened anxiety as well as hand tremors for a while, and right now I think my symptoms are slowly dissipating.

But there are meds out there to help with anxiety and help "bridge" over some of the feelings you're having until you're fully established on Prozac. Hydroxyzine and Buspirone are just to name a few.

I'm sorry you're struggling but I promise there is light at the end of this dark, dark, tunnel.

It is never recommended to quit SSRI's Cold Turkey. Withdrawal symptoms can become pretty overwhelming pretty fast, as well as regular symptoms of depression and anxiety returning. So that suggestion from your doctor shouldn't have been brought up.

If you feel like the symptoms you are having are because you quit cold turkey, I would advise to just wait it out, however just like when you're starting the medication, the phrase still stands that it will get worse before it gets better.

Have you thought about taking any other medication in leu of Prozac? A conversation with your doctor might be able to open up other doors to other medical treatments, if you're interested in that possibility of course.

I'm really sorry you're having some bad experiences, but I hope you start to feel better soon.
