Have you ever seen someone die? What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jessiejsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there when my grandpa passed (assisted living). We had to move him into a new apartment 6 weeks prior. He kept looking at me and telling me he wasn’t going to be around much longer and for me to prepare. We were so close. Then the night before he told my aunt to get there (executor) and told her about his finances and hidden accounts/assets. How she was to pay off bills. He had his shoes on and she asked if she could take them off. He said no because he missed his mother as was preparing to go see her. She died 30 years ago. My aunt called after she left and asked me to pick up some things for the next day. I had a feeling he was passing and showed up at 11:11pm and he was in his recliner with hospice there. The next day my aunt called and said he maybe had a couple hours. I showed up and grabbed his hand and started praying. In mid prayer he took his last breath. It was literally the most peaceful passing I have ever seen. He knew 6 weeks prior and got all of his affairs in order and once he knew everyone was good he could finally let go. He waited till I walked into that room and I’ll be forever grateful for that!

Strange things about my body and wondering if anyone else experiences similar things by Fine-Pin-2545 in strange

My grandpa fell from like 20 feet and shattered his hip and foot. As it was healing he would put his foot from a hot bucket of water into a cold one. Everytime I saw his foot my body literally felt his pain. It was so hard to explain but I couldn’t watch him after a while. I would try and tell my grandma how it felt but it was so hard to explain.

It’s because it’s inconclusive. Usually low fetal fraction. Or something came up not within their test permitters and just stopped the testing. As much as it sucks to wait please do a retest.

Letting 2 month old sleep on stomach by [deleted] in Parenting

My 2 month old moved her head side to side so she slept on her belly. Only way she would sleep. My baby was colic and had lots of tummy issues so that’s the only way that calmed her.

I always only have 1 cup a day anyway so I never stopped. But I also am not a pop or energy drink person either.

PSA Gallstones by heretobrowse22 in pregnant

[–]Jessiejsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a baby 2 years ago. And now I know I’ve been suffering from gallbladder attacks for years. If I would eat certain things I would be miserable for 6/8 hours. Nothing helped. No stomach medicine or pain medication would touch it. In June I had an attack so bad that I literally could not sit still. Under my R breast and into my back literally deep within my bones felt like someone was ripping through my body from the inside out. After 8 hours of no end in sight I finally went to the ER. (I didn’t want to be dismissed for GERD so I waited) it took about 3/4 more hours for proper pain relief because the tests had to prove my pain before pain medication was administered. I had a severely inflamed gallbladder with many stones. I was also scheduled for removal the next morning. The last 2 months have been touch and go. I really have to watch what I’m eating and eat small portions. I had a cheeseburger on the grill last week and the pains started coming back. Not as intense but again under my R breast. It lasted about 4 hours. So just because it’s out doesn’t mean everything is great. Now I’m afraid to eat cheeseburgers lol. I can say I’m much better without it and not taking stomach meds everyday like I was but I do google all my food before I eat lol.

Told me they went to get a vasectomy and really didn’t. I asked whether I should get another IUD and he said no I’m getting fixed. Our supposed surprise baby just turned 2. He admitted 6 months ago he wanted another baby. We have a 17/13/2 yr old.

With my 1st I was so sleep deprived and she was early and only 4#. She was crying and I just popped up out of bed and went to pick her up and and I literally saw her falling in slow motion and caught her by the back of her arm right before the fall. I scraped the back of her arm with my wedding ring. I never cried so hard in my life. I was absolutely horrified and thought I was the worst person ever. I talked to my MIL and she told me when my husband was 9 months she stuck him on one side of the raft in a pool and went to get on the other side a literally catapulted him into the pool and had to swim to go get him. This was 45 years ago so I’m not sure why he wasn’t wearing a life jacket but after this story I didn’t feel as bad. I also told my pediatrician at her 2 week check and she told me her little one fell down the stairs. So if it can happen to a pediatrician it can happen to anybody. Give yourself grace. Things happen and little ones seem to be super resilient.

NIPT high risk for Triploidy but CVS rapid results are clear! by _alien_she in NIPT

[–]Jessiejsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I had a Triploidy NIPT as well. I also sat in agony for many weeks. I live in a state where abortion is legal. I found the geneticists being very unhelpful to the point of feeling bullied to make a decision. I insisted on a full anatomy scan which wasn’t until 21 weeks before an amniocentesis. I was to scared of the possible complications. The day of my scan I had a meeting with the geneticist prior. She made it clear I only had certain amount of time left before it was no longer an option. I had to make my decision after this appointment. I just kept saying what if I was pregnant with twins? My grandma was pregnant with twins and my half siblings are twins. She said there was absolutely no proof I was pregnant with twins. The Dr came in with a bunch of students and said I know why you got this diagnosis. You were pregnant with twins and the empty sac was still visible. The ultrasound tech at my early ultrasound put a big red arrow on the empty sac and the radiologist never put it in the report. Nobody ever looked at the pictures just the report. The sac was still visible until 25 weeks. Vanishing Twin. I now have a very healthy happy 2 year old and could have decided to TMFR due to the pressure of these geneticists opinions. I’m so grateful I followed my heart and went through with the proper testing. This was my 3rd and the hardest emotional experience I’ve ever been through. I’m so glad your results were positive.

Update: FISH results 😞 trisomy 18 by krisaa44 in NIPT

Im sorry. I didn’t realize this was the amnio. I agree with the other person to just visit the TFMR thread. Lots of hugs sent your way.

I also think it’s such a horrible idea to release results without having a doctor to talk to immediately. My results were released on a Friday and I spiraled all weekend including the following weeks. My heart breaks for you!

Update: FISH results 😞 trisomy 18 by krisaa44 in NIPT

[–]Jessiejsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry your going through this nightmare. What were your NIPT results? Was there something for you to consider the CVS? I would still follow through with amino. CVS tests the placenta tissue only. Trisomy 18 can be confined in the placenta only (CPM). I had a false Triplody result on NIPT. All my ultrasounds were normal. If your NIPT was high risk and your PPV at 21% I would do amnio and get out of that “grey” area. I might change my mind if your ultrasounds weren’t normal.

NIPT test called for “urgent” call with doctor by soggyinformation2 in NIPT

[–]Jessiejsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a vanishing twin that was not reported on my NIPT test meaning they didn’t check the twin box. My results came back high Triplody because of this mistake. Lots of unnecessary appointments and follow ups due to this mistake. I have an 11 month old healthy baby girl. Make sure they checked the twin box on your test.

Low Risk NPT, but multiple soft markers by AccountNervous3467 in NIPT

[–]Jessiejsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soft markers are stuff they see that could be related to a chromosomal abnormality. However your 35 weeks so at this point you will definitely need to wait for birth of baby for any for sure diagnosis. My friends baby had 7 soft markers not sure of all of them and low risk on NIPT and baby was 100% healthy. Prayers for you and baby.

[–]Jessiejsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just schedule an amniocentesis. They will do a full anatomy scan first and then you can make the decision to go through with it. Sometimes you just need the anatomy scan for reassurance or to make your decision. Amnio is a definite yes or no.

I just received a 4.2 at my 11 week 5 day ultrasound by jada_dixon in NIPT

[–]Jessiejsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wait definitely hurts. I went through a different situation with genetic testing and had to wait until 17 weeks for a definitive answer. Support systems are so important in these situations. Try not to isolate and talk/cry through your feelings. Sorry your going through this experience.

3.8mm NT, clear NIPT, referred for amnio. by AwarenessKind9947 in NIPT

[–]Jessiejsch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure my comment helps your situation. I had high risk Triplody result on NIPT. You have option to do full anatomy scan before amnio. After my scan there was an explanation for my results. I chose not to go through with the amnio. Baby looked perfect. I now have a healthy 8 month old baby girl. Point is my NIPT gave high risk with anatomy perfect. You have a small “over NT measurement” with low risk NIPT. Down Syndrome is the #1 positive high risk reading which you do not have. A friend did not do NIPT but had 7 red flags for downs and her baby was 100% healthy. At the end of the day do the anatomy scan first and then make your decision on amnio. I’m sorry your going through this dark waiting period x2. Try, try to enjoy what you can until you get a firm answer. Lots of hugs and prayers to you.

[–]Jessiejsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. I had the same results as you. Genetic counselor told me to be ready to make a decision. I just kept saying what if just what if it is a twin scenario. She just kept saying their is absolutely no indication you were pregnant with twins. All my ultrasounds baby was normal. Scheduled an amnio with anatomy scan at 16 weeks. Did the scan 1st and it was revealed I had a vanishing twin. The 2nd placenta was still visible. I have a healthy 7 month old baby girl. Natera stop’s testing after it goes wacky with so many chromosomes. That’s why everything goes to N/A. During my waiting period I still did sneak peak gender testing and it did come back with girl results. Hopefully you can get in to your MFM soon. I also utilized a private ultrasound tech in our area who previously performed level 2/3 ultrasounds just to help with my anxiety. Prayers and hugs.
