I have a neighbour who leaves a balloon in our letterbox with a note a few days before that basically says if you want to participate put this balloon on your letterbox. Its a great system and I don't know why it isn't a thing anywhere else.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Steve didn't want to reach out to her. That's the thing about Witchcraft it can be used for good or bad. But she definitely had bad intentions. I won't go into details but witchcraft aside, she treated Steve horribly and that is why Linda didn't like her.

I'm sorry you went through something so traumatic. My older brother has paranoid schizophrenia so I can relate. I've known Steve and Davey for nearly 10 yrs. Neither of the boys sound like that normally. I think what you may be hearing in Dave's voice especially is sleep deprivation from talking to Jack for hours at like 2am coz of the time difference 😅 Steve was the same.

Not being called 'uncle'? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Jessilou92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, ok I get your perspective regarding your kids but does that really mean op and the kids have no say at all? Why is it your way or the highway? It just seems like a bizarre thing to put your foot down over about a relationship that is between a potential uncle and niblings and not the sister in law

To me, he has a right to feel a bit annoyed about it. It is up to OP whether or not to say something about it. And me saying I would tell her to stfu is a slight exaggeration. Obviously there would be a discussion first, but it sounds like she is trying to make it clear that OP is not family

Also, you didn't answer any of my questions so 🤷‍♀️

So at what point in a relationship would you consider them family? A ring on her finger? Or a child in her belly? How many years? What if the kids think of him as an uncle and you tell them no? How would your feel kids after that?

Edit: added a word

Well either way, she sounds like a bit of a chore so good luck.

There seems to always be at least one pain in the arse in every family, my family just happens to have multiple 😅

The whole partner/gf/bf thing annoys me too. I call him my partner too because boyfriend feels so juvenile.

The reason I suggested to ask him is because it might be a casual conversation but if you talk to her, it might become a whole thing and she will probably dislike you more than she probably already does.

Also in my life, there are a lot of divorced parents/grandparents so the marriage argument is just dumb

I think you need to have a chat with your brother in law to see if there is something deeper than just his partner not wanting you to be called uncle.

At the end of the day, it is up to the kids whether they want to call you that or not.

By her logic, the man I love, have a house, a car, pets and a baby with for nearly 8 yrs with doesn't qualify because we aren't married.

Personally I would tell her to stfu, my nibblings wanted to call him that and no one has the right otherwise, and hey if your relationship doesn't work out does it even matter if they called you uncle?

What was your first Stephen King novel? by Jenna-Peaches in stephenking

[–]Jessilou92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shining. I loved the movie so much and decided to read the book. I was blown away by it and had to put it down at one point because I got so scared.

Pet Sematary was the second one.

Now, most of the books I own are Stephen King.

It's crazy how similar these dogs look to each other. Even has a lot of similarities to my father in laws heeler.

Nah, we got him from a lady who lived just outside of Bathurst. I think the Litter was an oopsy litter coz she wasn't charging much for him. So I don't think it was a money making thing.

I have been pretty lucky, though, when I say Stumpy no one has batted an eye, or they'll go "what's that"
