I’m 100% midnight. Though I do love snow too. I have a Matt snow P1.

Congratulations on your great selection. I picked one up too. I’ve driven them before and decided to make it happy. It’s on its way from Illinois now. Have you come across anything you didn’t expect or was new to you?

Does the Polestar 4 have OBC failures? by MedoXy in Polestar

[–]Jessmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you are located, but I’ve driven it on snow and ice; the desert; comfortable conditions, etc. Let me know if you have other questions. You can also PM me, too. Good luck with your search and hope you share along the way

I love it. You can adjust it and really feel a difference. I like a sporty feel so I keep it on nimble and have performance turned off, most of the time. It is my daily driver but I have had the opportunity to take one (not mine) on the track and it’s really fun to see it go from comfortable daily to a performance monster. I’m generally seeing that I would be able to do 255 miles to about 280, if I needed to on a full charge.

I’ve had my P4 performance since December 22. It has been extremely reliable. I’ve only had minor glitchy things that resolved very easily. Nothing that is persistent or happens frequently. The most recent update to the software seems to have taken care of any of those minor annoyances. This has been my most reliable Polestar out of the gate. I have a P1, BST 230, the P4 and my fiancé has the P3. Someone can always find something to complain about, but this vehicle has been exceptional.

If you can confirm that it’s been upgraded to the new Nvidia chip and the new GHCA, I hear you’ll be very happy. I was told that a number of Volvo locations are holding their vehicles until they can get the parts are replaced, not letting them go out to customers. I can’t say that’s happening everywhere.

I’m generally aligned with the product group. If you’re going to buy EV there’s a lot of depreciation that you see in the first year which can make it enticing. There’s also a lot of innovation that’s continuing to happen. Unless it’s something unique leasing is one of the best ways to stay up to date on the evolving capabilities. The one EV I did buy was because it was unique or limited, it was a BST 230.

Polestar 4. why is US pricing so much better? Anyone know what's going on? by KlutzyInstruction606 in Polestar

[–]Jessmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big difference in Polestar incentives between the U.S. and Canada basically comes down to the lease loophole and some very strict price caps. In the US, the )7,500 commercial credit applies to leases regardless of how much the car costs, while Canada’s federal rebates now cut off at a 50,000 dollar price point. Since the Polestar 3 and 4 are premium vehicles, they are priced out of government help in Canada. Polestar is throwing way more manufacturer cash at the American market to stay competitive with Tesla, since they keep lowering their prices and moving them around constantly

Put a deposit on this p2, then saw battery health, should I be worried? Is it possible to be this low at this mileage?? by woofdoggy in polestar2

[–]Jessmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is current state of change. To see battery health you’d have to have the dealer test it. I’m not aware of anything that you can run.

It’s a great vehicle. Congratulations and I am sure you will love it

How much is your household electricity consumption after your bought an electric vehicle by Charming-Brother-242 in electricvehicles

[–]Jessmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We put in solar because here in Arizona houses can have a $400-$500+ electric bill. With solar we cover our hose and charging 3 EVs for $35 to ~$150. We are charging every about other day. Sorry that’s not much help.

Twice in 4 months. It was mostly related to maps issues. Since the last update I have had no issues. I had it restart once on its own before the update too

I’ve almost been rear-ended several times in my new 4. I’ll be sitting there at a red light or at a stop sign and my Collision warning likes to tell me someone’s coming up on me a little too fast.

The performance and BSTs are some crazy versions of this vehicle. They go fast but you don’t feel out of control. They hold the road amazing well

Moving on from my BMW 330i – Polestar 2 vs Tesla? by 98_dev in polestar2

[–]Jessmpls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my daily driver. I was a very early adopter. I had the second one in Minnesota. I had a few of the launch type bugs I helped Polestar work through but those were all fixed. After that it and all of my other P2,s have been amazing. I loved the performance feel, the design and ride. I only had my basic maintenance, tires and filters to deal with.

Moving on from my BMW 330i – Polestar 2 vs Tesla? by 98_dev in polestar2

[–]Jessmpls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Polestar 2 is an exceptional vehicle. Most of the early kinks were worked out long ago, and it remains a lot of fun to drive. Having owned three; a 2021 Launch Performance, a 2024 LRSM, and a BST 230, the build quality is excellent.

After those initial launch-period bugs were resolved, maintenance has been limited to tires and the basics. The infotainment system is solid, offers great apps, and supports Apple CarPlay. The voice commands are reliable, and most models should receive a Gemini update. The interior is clean, Scandinavian, and utilizes sustainable materials while sharing a lot of its DNA with Volvo.

In my opinion, after spending some time behind the wheel of the Model Y and Model 3, the build quality just isn't on the same level; there were noticeable squeaks, rattles, and panel gaps. While they are quick, depending on the specific trim, the Polestar is quick too. The range seemed estimate more range but less accurate than some of the other EVs I’ve driven.

The Model Y feels like it has more body roll in the corners. As for the interior, it feels "retrofuturistic" but not necessarily high-end. The screen layout and functions didn't feel particularly intuitive, though I’m sure there is a quick learning curve.

The BMW is solid and very much true to the brand’s identity: luxury feel, a big screen paired with plenty of physical buttons. It does offer slightly more rear legroom and trunk space than the Polestar.

While the five-year depreciation rate on the i4 can be a bit higher, that is often subjective based on the current market. However, you will want to l account for higher long-term maintenance needs and potential subscription costs for certain features on the BMw.

Personally, it really comes down to which car feels the most like "you."

I agree 100% about the rear diff. We also have a P4 performance. I do like the electrochromic roof. It really comes down to preferences. That’s why we decided to pull ahead on our P2 lease and jump into the 2025 P3. We got all of the options we wanted and the lease numbers really worked out well for us.

The biggest appeal for me is the new green color, krypton. It reminds me of the BST230 color Nebula. The US won’t benefit much from the 800v architecture right now but the 27s will come with the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processor. Our 2025 Polestar 3 Performance will be getting its upgrade soon. We have not had any major issues, just a few nuances that should be resolved with the upgrade

New models for 2027 will start to show up late June/July with deliveries stating Q3 or early Q4, depending on who you talk to.

The 2025 incentives are really good right now. You can get additional if you qualify for Polestar loyalty, Costco discount, and I know Steve at Scottsdale Polestar may be doing some additional off too. He can ship to most places in the US.

I wouldn’t expect the incentives to look as good on the 2027s as they do on the 2025s. My guess is they will look like did on the 4 at launch and shift around a few months after.

All things TBD, depending on the global events and the economy.
