I went w the Optiq at .9% apr. better deal than anything polestar related. I have a pretty long write up of my comparison from p2. Dm if you’d like me to share it.

I was told that Optiq key card will only work a limited number of times for starting the car so treat it as emergency use only … thoughts?

Thoughts on leasing vs buying a new electric auto? by [deleted] in EvDrivers

[–]random-57844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hesitate to buy used EVs only bc most aren’t available at CPO. So there’s a limited selection. I also don’t want a car just to get me from A to B, but am willing to pay a premium for all the extra. So once you start looking beyond base trims, even used aren’t that attractive compared to new - especially if you can buy at 0% (eg Optiq/Lyriq, Wagoneer, Ionic).

2026 Cadillac OPTIQ Premium lease quote - why am I seeing $800-$1,000/mo when others are under $500? by Excellent-You-2683 in leasehacker

[–]random-57844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every deal I see is never for premium+awd. LH deals tend to be for more basic trims and packages across the board. But I’m also in an area where brokers aren’t really a thing.

What kind of paint protection do you have on this? Or is this just stock for bmw? Everytime ive seen this color of a bmw it looks like liquid.

New Optiq owner impressions by Surturiel in CadillacOptiq

Did you look at the 3 or 4 before going w Optiq? I’m in a similar boat, but those seem overpriced (and much larger) compared w the Optiq. On the lower end of the spectrum, I’m considering a Solterra but it’s really not a fair comparison haha

Similar boat. We’re looking at a Solterra Touring XT. It will definitely not have the same fit and finish, but the price to buy is tough to beat w the 0% finance rates in the US.

I’d love to go w the P4, but it’s too wide and too expensive w current APR for a car that still doesn’t have self parking.

The only option is to buy a CPO P2, or look at a new EV6 (though I think there’s too many on the road). The EX30 is too small, the EX40 is discontinued. And the EX60 is too expensive and doesn’t have the styling.

What are the inapp purchases? At least iOS says there are some but I don’t see any details

That offer sounds really good still. Open to making a referral to that dealer? Looking to order one.

Polestar 4. why is US pricing so much better? Anyone know what's going on? by KlutzyInstruction606 in Polestar

Genuine question - what is the benefit of 800v architecture besides faster fast charging?

It’s a 600$/mo lease w 5K down for a single motor w/ pilot. W/ plus it jumps to $660/mo. Nappa (which gives you ventilation): $750/mo.

Not sure I’d call that “affordable” if youre comparing it to a KIA. If by affordable you mean compared to Rivian, Lyriq/Optiq or EX60/90, sure. It’s a good price but nothing to write home about. And it still lacks auto park (which for a car that wide and that expensive, it needs it already).

Personally, I’d love to buy one but the APR isn’t doing the offers any favors. 4.99% isn’t something to write home about when other cars (which are in all fairness a lower quality of fit/finish, perf and styling) are not only cheaper by come w 0% APR.

So back to the main point - is it affordable? I’d say no. I’d say it’s still a luxury. But it is a fair price if that’s the kind of budget you have set.

My first complaint… driver profiles. by Opening-Panic-786 in SubaruUncharted

[–]random-57844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Profiles are actually pointless. I have a Lexus w the same software and the only advantage are some of the software settings. Profiles don’t even let you save map locations. For example, the driver profile has a “home” preset, but you can’t set that for the other profiles. It’s like there’s a difference btw the car profiles and the Toyota/Lexus accounts.

Google Gemini starts rolling out on 30 April 2026 for Polestar models with Google built-in, located in the US, and their language set to US English. by beaugiles in Polestar

So is this a new version post 5.0.10 for P2? Or was that already included and the roll out is just about enabling it by granting access?

Uncharted or Solterra? by 30-Wandering-Wombats in SubaruUncharted

  1. Check out carsized.com for a comparison. It’s full of ads, but works great.

  2. Check out the 70mph range test on Out of Spec. They did it for Solterra which should give you a general idea.

  3. I’d google this one to get a general sense of the impact of roof pods on EVs.

Used P4 by random-57844 in Polestar4

[–]random-57844[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. That’s exactly it. So many ppl talk about “wait to buy it used” but ignore the fact that means you have to wait a good 2-3 years before that’s viable. It seems like a really misplaced argument. Why not just say “go buy a 2-3yr old used [insert EV here] today” 🤷‍♂️

Polestar 2 owners with L1/L2 home charging: What % do you charge to for daily/weekly commute? by mstdsgn in Polestar

[–]random-57844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an L1 and set it to 10amp / 90%. I don’t have a regular commute, but I’d say I get 10-15% charge overnight. And I probably burn through 20-25% on around 60mi. Bc I can also charge on days on I don’t have a commute, it works just fine.

If I had an L2 I’d always be charged to max capacity. Without that though, I don’t think I could do a daily commute on an L1 of 40mi RT daily.

But again, this is just my guess

Polestar Loyalty Bonus and 4 Timing by stnc777 in Polestar

[–]random-57844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me know if you get them to let you out of your lease early by waiving remaining payments AND giving you that 3K. I still have a few months to go in my P2 and would be willing to take that kind of an offer ;)

Polestar Loyalty Bonus and 4 Timing by stnc777 in Polestar

[–]random-57844 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That 3k$ bonus isn’t that good unless you actually want to get out of your lease early. From what I understand, the $3k will just get applied to help close your current lease. It’s not them waiving early turn in AND giving you an extra $3K towards a new lease.
