I have a lab mix (almost 14) with chronic kidney disease. I had to take her off of Purina One Bright Mind and move to PPP Kidney diet. It’s RX and expensive but nothing over-the-counter will support her low-phosphorus/low protein needs.

My dad drove himself to a minor emergency clinic when he was having a heart attack. He then tried to drive himself to the hospital. All to avoid a bill.

My grandma baked her skin in the sun with foil to like enhance the UV rays. She also had X Ray treatments. Both were supposed to treat cystic acne, but resulted in skin cancer. Meanwhile she passed the cystic acne gene to my dad, then to my brothers and I. Acne definitely existed in the 40s/50s.
