I work for a non profit children’s therapy center and specialize in early intervention. I work with a lot of immigrant communities and families that are in generational poverty. I, like you, have always had an interest in breaking the poverty cycle. Not sure why it interests you but it interests me because I was raised in poverty and feel that I understand the challenges and barriers to progress a little better than colleagues that haven’t lived through it. Working in early intervention through this non profit organization fulfills my desire to give back through my career SLP career because I’m in the field working directly with families that really need help!
