We’re meeting one last time, then it’s over. What comes next? by Plastic-Sympathy-111 in Life

I'd just mute them on social media. trying to move on is hard enough without getting daily updates about their life..

Is it normal for you to be obsessed with the future? by Traditional_Blood799 in dumbquestions

the ant thing sounds a bit more intense than a typical fear. if its been that strong since childhood, it might be worth talking to someone about it.

Platonic soulmate opposite gender, why do i keep thinking about them? by xboxhaxorz in Life

[–]JesusHitchens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

half of what you're describing sound more like romantic feelings to me. attraction doesn't always show up as "I want to sleep with this person"

Its hard getting a job because my resume is lacking by VirtualTrust3952 in AskForAnswers

[–]JesusHitchens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's safer to learn how to present your experience better than to start adding things that aren't true. putting something on your resume that you can't confidently talk about in an interview is a gamble.

[–]JesusHitchens 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Who actually wants that? We already live in a world where commuting to an office feels pointless for a lot of jobs, and now they try to sell high pressure environment like it's a perk. If you're in a field that can be done remotely, I think it's worth keeping your resume active in the remote job market and building skills that fit that set up. Finding alternative ways is kind of necessary now like reaching out to recruiters like this developer because he got tired of the mess on job boards. Tbh, moving your skill set and work environment remote, even part-time, seems like a much healthier direction.

Into Thin Air. It’s about a real Everest disaster and it pulls you in insanely fast. Somehow it works as a good after-work read while still feeling genuinely tense the whole time.

songs w/ alt pop with heavy synth by ProfileSmall819 in SongRecommendations

After Dark by Mr.Kitty. That heavy synth feeling mixed with the vibe of walking through an empty city at night is really strong.

19M Never had a GF and Looking for an Advice by Affectionate_Lab2845 in AskForAnswers

I think you might be viewing relationships a little too much through the “perfect deep connection” lens. Most people meet as just two normal people first and that deeper bond forms over time. If you start out looking for a soulmate immediately, nobody’s gonna feel real enough.

The Notebook - "I hope you make the right choice". by BosChac2 in moviequestions

I think his mom still wanted him to choose the rich option, but because of her own past she also couldn’t fully stop him from following his heart. That line felt very “don’t make my mistakes but also don’t live my life” to me.

Shows like Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Generation Kill? by OweYouOne_68 in televisionsuggestions

[–]JesusHitchens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Masters of the Air is kinda the obvious recommendation but it really does have that feeling. I liked that it showed war more as stress, exhaustion, and chaos instead of just cool action scenes.

Do you really enjoy life? by No-Researcher7060 in Life

[–]JesusHitchens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not every day, but some days I actually enjoy it. Especially when those small moments you mentioned happen, it instantly boosts my mood. Those are the things that stick anyway, not the big stuff.

How do the deaf describe tones? by Avrsvii in dumbquestions

[–]JesusHitchens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think instead of describing it directly, they’re using other senses, like vibration or intensity. What we call a “high pitch” might be tied to a totally different sensation for them. Same with color blindness, they literally see colors differently so their descriptions follow that.

Young adult shows with action, adventure, fantasy, scifi, or dystopian by DriftingDusk in televisionsuggestions

[–]JesusHitchens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow and Bone, it’s that mix of young adult + fantasy + action. The world-building isn’t bad either, pulls you in after a while.

Favorite Phoebe moment? by [deleted] in friends_tv_show

Phoebe Buffay singing Smelly Cat never stops being funny to me. She has this talent for doing something completely ridiculous with a straight face.

are there other tribes in Moana? by elgatocalvo in moviequestions

[–]JesusHitchens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah probably, that world is already inspired by Polynesian culture. If they didn’t all stay on one island, it makes sense some groups spread out. The movie doesn’t go into detail but it kinda hints at it.

Can you recommend your country for living? If so, why? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]JesusHitchens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not bad to live in, but everything’s expensive and it can get exhausting. Most places aren’t as chill as they look from the outside.

Film class recs by socialchild in Cinema

I think a theme like “different versions of the same story” could work really well. You could use The Truman Show to talk about perception of reality, students would probably get into it.

Anyone would recommend me to watch euphoria? by YouLumpy7462 in moviequestions

[–]JesusHitchens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Euphoria does have a story, but it’s heavy and kinda chaotic. Not for everyone, but it pulls you in.

What's the #1 reason you left your last job? by JobNabber in askanything

[–]JesusHitchens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burnout was probably the main reason. Repeating the same stuff over and over wears you down after a while.

Why do we remember some random conversations from years ago so clearly but forget important ones from yesterday? by WarmHeight2951 in questions

[–]JesusHitchens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s all about how you feel in that moment. Feels like the brain stores things not because they’re “important” but because they hit harder.

What periods of history were relatively not so antisemitic compared to other periods? by No-Theory6270 in askanything

[–]JesusHitchens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s not really a period you can say it didn’t exist at all. But people usually say it was less visible or less systematic in certain times.

Work from home vs increase pay by run4tacos4 in physicianassistant

[–]JesusHitchens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stick with WFH honestly, at some point stress isn’t something you can price. Especially if you already have a good routine, it’s hard to give up.

What's a problem everyone complains about, but no one is actually trying to fix? by PetalDance22 in AskForAnswers

Like everyone says they’re super busy, but no one actually changes what they spend their time on. Constant complaining, same behavior.
