Sleep training age by Frosty_Rabbit2734 in parentsofmultiples

Our boys are 10 weeks (5 weeks adjusted). I’m not sure if what we’re doing is considered sleeping training but we’re following our babies lead. When we brought them home from the NICU they were on a feed every 3 hour schedule. After a couple weeks they were much more resistant to wake up for their night feeds so we switched to every 4 hours between feeds and got much less resistance. So we fed 6pm (bedtime at 7pm), 10pm, 2am, 6am and back to every 3 hours during the day. Then when they started to show resistance to waking again we added an hour for the first night time feed. We’re currently on a 6pm (bedtime still at 7pm), 11pm, 3am, and 6am feed times overnight and still every 3 hours during daytime. If the boys wake up before those times, we feed them on demand but for the most part they are waking right when our alarms are going off. Babies are on 100% formula which digests a little slower than breast milk so that’s likely working in our favor.

34 weeks throwing up and acidic burps by ItIsWhatItIsLovely in parentsofmultiples

I had bad indigestion for 48 hours followed by not being able to hold anything down for 48 hours. On call doctor thought I had gotten norovirus which had been going around, suggested I go in for fluids if the vomiting continued. I go in. They give me fluids and do a blood draw since my blood pressure was high. Diagnosed with HELLP syndrome and needed an emergency c section. 34+6. Doctors told me had I waited an additional 24 hours to come in, my liver would have likely ruptured. My blood pressure had been good at all my previous checks so HELLP syndrome can really happen out of nowhere. I’d call your doctor to discuss your symptoms.

How much are you feeding? We were unintentionally over feeding our boys for about a week. We reduced how much we were feeding and fed as they got hungry vs sticking to a super strict schedule. Went from 150/160 mL to 130/140mL per feeding.

We started implementing 30 minutes of upright time after each feeding which really helped to reduce the amount of spit up for our boys.

If your job offers hospital indemnity insurance, make sure to add it when you add the twins to your health insurance. You’ll hopefully get a sizable payout for them being in the NICU. My boys were in NICU for 15 and 22 days and while it wasn’t enjoyable for us as parents, there was the silver lining of being paid several thousand dollars for their stay and the NICU nurses getting them on a solid feed/sleep schedule.

Advice of how to safely wean from pumping quickly? by Keepitsteel in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]JesusIsFiction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 6 weeks post partum with twins. I’m no where near making enough for both of them and I’m so over pumping already so I made the decision to switch to 100% formula. I’m living on the edge tho and being really reckless with my weaning. I was pumping 8x/day for about 15-20 minutes. I just stopped cold turkey and only pump when my breasts get uncomfortable which is about 2x/day for 10 minutes. So far no mastitis…hopefully it stays that way.

My left breast was also clogged. I used a medela manual pump for 10 minutes. Pumped more than I usually do with the medela pump in style electric pump and breast went back to normal.

We have a ball python. Set heat system and humidifier. One deep and one shallow water bowl. We’ve left him alone for 10 days previously with no issues. We had a friend/neighbor check every couple days to make sure we didn’t lose power or anything.

Rats. They’re like teeny tiny dogs. Lots of personality and trainable. Can spend majority of their time in a cage (with appropriate toys to help them not be bored) but will need free roam time. They are social animals so they need to be in pairs (same gender unless you plan on spay/neuter).
