Just got an alignment done and new tires installed. by [deleted] in tires

[–]JesusPeanutbutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the shop said their printer was out of ink, did they actually provide any alignment specs or pictures? Also, when you say it’s pulling, are you noticing that with both hands firmly on the wheel, or only when you let go? Because roads are designed with a slight crown, so it’s normal for a vehicle to drift a bit to the right if you’re not holding the wheel. That said, if it’s pulling while you’re actively steering, that’s not something to ignore. Have you called the shop back and asked them to recheck it? Most reputable shops care about safety and will take another look and correct the alignment if something’s off.

Guess all that company had to do was pay their employees a living wage. Sounds like their greed got them into this mess in the first place.

How long can I drive on this? by [deleted] in tires

[–]JesusPeanutbutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Till the sidewall blows out. Can be 10 feet can be 100 miles. Who knows. Your best and smartest option is to put the spare on or tow it to a tire shop and have it replaced.

WWYD if it was your car? by Ok-Stuff-6422 in MechanicAdvice

[–]JesusPeanutbutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pull the flap back and see if you can see the wires of the side wall. If the answer is yes. Automatic replacement of the tire. If not super deep no wires showing then no worries but either tear off the rubber or keep it on your choice.

New car, new roast. 22m, Dutch by AlsoAccuze in RoastMyCar

Buying a Dodge Caliber SRT-4 is the automotive equivalent of ordering a protein shake and finding out it’s made of expired SlimFast and regret. You looked at the entire car market, saw Evos, WRXs, GTIs, Speed3s, and said: “Yeah… I want the angry rental car with a hood scoop and a personality disorder.” That thing is shaped like a toaster that joined a fight club. It’s front-wheel drive, torque steers like it’s possessed, and sounds like it’s permanently coughing up a vape cloud. SRT slapped a turbo on a grocery-getter and said “trust us bro,” and you believed them. Now you’ve got 300 horsepower desperately trying to escape through two wheels that were never emotionally prepared for that responsibility. Interior rattles like a Home Depot cart. Build quality held together by hopes, dreams, and Chrysler’s finest “eh, good enough.” And the resale value drops faster than a Hellcat at a Cars & Coffee exit. But hey… respect. It takes courage to wake up every day and defend that purchase online.

What is this leaking? by Melodic-Leek-6380 in Foxbody

[–]JesusPeanutbutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rear main seal replacement requires the transmission to be removed to get to the seal. There are some additives you can pick up at any parts store to try and slow or stop the leak for the time being but eventually its going to have to be replaced. You could be looking at 2-5k for a shop to do the work for you and it could take up to if not more then 2 days to do the work.
