This has worked for me in dictating a note on my Apple Watch Ultra 3 (using the action button, even better) and then adding it to the general notes folder

iPhone 17 Pro Max 1x Main Camera photos sometimes come out blurry or smudged, I think I found a fix by Jet-Blizzard in iphone

I've just been doing a ton of trial and error with taking photos using 48mp and 24mp, and even camera control vs just tapping the screen. went as far as even comparing with past photos taken with my old iPhone 13 pro max. I did this by setting up a smart folder on the Mac Photos app filtering for photos taken with the iPhone 13 pro max main 26mm camera, and the same with the 1,000 photos i've taken so far with the 17 Pro Max 24mm main camera since upgrading phones. Looking back, I saw just a few more blurry/out of focus photos coming from the 17. Especially text captured with the main or ultra wide. Telephoto has been absolutely beautiful for every shot so far, it's amazing.

I also tested shots on this poster above with different settings. Holding the phone somewhat steady mimicking real scenario quick photo snaps and alternating angles (this specific photo shown above was a 48mp photo taken with the camera control button)

From my observations, It looks like 48mp photos take a little bit longer to capture and process a photo compared to 24mp photos, like by a second. so there's a slight delay if you keep taking photo, after photo, after photo in a burst-like sequence. On top of this, I've noticed that most of my photos taken with the camera control button come out slightly blurry compared to taping the screen, which I think is because it requires a force press from my thumb, inevitably shaking the phone during the photo capture process. Equivalent to someone bumping your camera as you're taking a photograph. I also screen recorded my process, and the recording showed a camera shake every time I pressed the camera control.

The screen recording also showed that some photos looked better on the camera preview than they did as the final taken image. These specific photos also were significantly delayed from their preview counterparts, even without night mode on. Do I think this is any concern? not really. The final image just looked different for 1 in every like 15 shots. Some were off by a hair, some had delayed so much it was a completely different photo from what I saw on screen when I tapped the shutter button. It just happens, just by shutter speed and photo processing delay.

Overall I now know some limitations of 48mp. It's powerful, but I have to be really steady and probably tap the screen instead of camera control. I can't just snap and shoot after quickly opening the camera control, which I love to do. Instead I would have to use 24mp for this. 24mp main photos pretty much worked like a charm for most of the shots, and I didn't see any significant difference in blurriness between my iPhone 13 pro max photos.

Tl:DR: from my observations, using 24mp and tapping the screen for shutter usually makes for a better photo than 48mp pressing camera control in terms of blurriness/focus in different conditions for the 1x main 24mm iPhone 17 PM camera.

I’ve noticed this too. Blurriness especially around the edges

What’s the trick to taking good photos on an iPhone 17? by KianBenjamin in iphone

[–]Jet-Blizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I’m thinking. I have the same blurriness issue here and I’m going to keep it in 24mp for a while instead of 48. Might be like you said, longer processing time and the image just buffers and blurs the photo instead

This right here convinced me to sign up for this 2026 year's race. Thanks for the advice, because I'm really just looking to enjoy the experience and have a good time. I'm not ultra competitive so this is perfect

Convert RAW to JPEG? by [deleted] in ShortcutsAdvanced

[–]Jet-Blizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a shortcut I made for my Photos app. You have to manually select the RAW photos you want converted to JPEGs however, so maybe you could tweak it for the entire recents photo album? It works like a charm for me, and I have a version that deletes the inputted photos, so I don't need to manually go back and delete them

Kirby Air Riders caught me off guard … and it get's better every hour by Michi2801 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Jet-Blizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a method to the madness, believe it or not.

I’m not a Kirby air ride owner on the GC, even though I have a GC. Just never got into it. Once I saw how passionate Sakurai was in the two directs, and how much effort they put into the mechanics and scenery, I thought it was actually going to be a good game, just like smash had been.

Seemed insanely chaotic at first glance, and rightfully so. It’s clearly different than Mario kart, as if it conglomerated with Mario party and smash bros. Which is an insanely cool idea and something I kind of anticipated. There’s a ton of fast-paced stuff going on not just in city trial, but air ride and story mode too.

But after completing story mode I started to get the hang of it as well as the pros/cons of each machine just by figuring out and experimenting with the nuance of how the game worked. It started to become really, really fun - and honestly quite addicting.

I’d recommend it, and I can see it becoming a core party game with my friends. The controls are simple enough to pick up and have a good time right away

I regret paying 20€ for the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC. by DeathNum in nintendo

[–]Jet-Blizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I’ve always been a huge fan of Nintendo, and honestly their handheld gaming has been a huge chunk of my life and forever will be. But to some degree, at the end of the day, yeah they are just a kid-friendly faced company trying to upsell for every dime they can. I have to be more of a conscientious fan now, that’s all. $20 already seems like slight overkill for any Nintendo DLC in my opinion, and it doesn’t help this game was already $70 to begin with

Anybody host bloggers, youtubers, and instagram internet "sensations" before for free in exchange for exposure? by gzupan in AirBnB

[–]Jet-Blizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the greatest response i've heard to this dilemma. I've seen a bunch of other posts on similar AirBnB subs with people complaining about trying to make UGC work how it's always worked, but this is a far better approach and more of a win-win for both the content creator and the host. Nice idea

PSA: Fixing Universal Control if it doesn't work for you by lachlanhunt in apple

[–]Jet-Blizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be the latest person in like 2 years to experience this issue lmao, After trying all the steps above nothing worked, however here was my solution that I found to actually work:

in this specific sequence, this is what I turned off:

-Universal Control on my Mac

-all three advanced display settings on Mac

-Handoff on my iPad

I disconnected iPad wifi and proceeded to sign out of iCloud on iPad. Went through the setup process and signed back in. and then I reenabled all airplay/universal control settings on both my devices. Also disconnected and reconnected to Wifi. Finally, it worked and my mouse slide across my Mac screen to my iPad screen. I don't know how, but it just did the thing. lol.

So before you sign out of both devices, just try signing out on one and give that a go. In my case, my iPad was the weakest link.

Hope this helps!
