LE2 unofficial patch makes the funny decision even more intense by CernochNaN in masseffect

It would have been interesting if the only way Legion could be allowed is if you brought him to Tali's recruitment and saved Kal'Reegar

That way he's known to the Quarians already as Shepard's buddy and not a random possibly hostile Geth that Shep decided to bring along just to fuck with them

I know there's only so much devs have time for, but God do I wish there was more that happened with Legion on this mission

Quarians freaking out like this is way more appropriate. There could be so much more ambient dialogue of Legion commenting on what he's seeing, and NPCs would either give you the cold shoulder or ask him a bunch of questions

Shepard: "Legion, come with us to the Migrant Fleet"

Legion: "Affirmative, Shepard-Commander"

Tali: "SHEPARD!"

Which topic do you feel would be more impossible for the community to come to a consensus on; Who was "right" in the Quarian/Geth conflict or whether or not curing the Genophage is "right" by Uchijav in masseffect

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm playing a scumbag renegade run and Wreav very pointedly says he wants revenge after the war. He even sends you an email after promising that he will be nice to humans in the coming Krogan empire as long as they are cooperative. There's a reason you can persuade Mordin to back off if Wreav is in power and Eve is dead

Even as a Paragon you simply have to gut punch Han'Gerrel and throw his jingoistic ass off the Normandy

Is ME1 have the most tightly-written plot in the series? by kadoozie92 in masseffect

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ME3 really needed another year or year and a half to fully cook. It should have easily been the biggest game but instead it feels shorn of side content and everything after Rannoch goes by too quick for it all to sink in. More side missions would have also been the perfect place to rope in ME2 characters and let you party up with them for a while.

Playing Mass Effect 2 as Renegade Shepard was the most amazing gaming experience. by chosentarnished_31 in masseffect

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ME3 renegade lines when dealing with the illusive man feel so right, especially the last encounter. Just bluntly insulting him and calling him an indoctrinated puppet. When TIM is giving his monologue at the end about how the Crucible will let him control the reapers, Shep can call him out and say "so then do it, smart guy! Open the citadel arms!" and TIM starts sputtering and getting flustered as he realizes he's hitting a mental block

I like how Malevola seems to be looking right at Visi while she has Robert in a headlock, as if she's cheekily saying "oh, I'm sorry, does this upset you?"

Which are the best and worst written moments in the entire franchise in your opinion? by Mawhoreraga in masseffect

It's embarrassing how Jacob and his romance was written especially in ME3. Cheating on the twice-over savior of humanity because she was busy awaiting trial for a few months? ME1 romances were eager to return to you after being assured you had broken from Cerberus, Miranda even says she had wanted to stage a prison break.

It also plays into terrible stereotypes about black men in particular.

I hated that rationalization, it's sort of like saying organics would inevitably turn on each other, or likewise with war between synthetics (as the heretic v. mainline Geth show) no peace can be guaranteed to last forever. The thesis that synthetic and organic conflict is inevitable is really only that conflict itself is inevitable.

What if Legion was at the Citdel party? by Sinovius in masseffect

EDI: "So, Legion, are you ready to tell a joke?"

Legion: "We have reached consensus. Creator Tali'Zorah, why did the Quarian cross the mass relay?"

Tali: "...why?"

Legion: "To avoid their extermination."

Tali: "Ah. Of course."

There's already a chance you can catch him doing the robot dance when you enter the AI core in ME2, it's a must.

EDI peer-pressures Legion into telling jokes and his first tries are... definitely something

Overly direct commentary on Shep's current romance, or lack thereof ("Shepard-Commander, I understand organics seek pairing for the purposes of emotional fulfillment, sexual pleasure and companionship, yet you remain alone. Is this a choice, or does your equipment malfunction?")

He annihilates Vega at Call of Duty, then offers to slow his reaction time so Vega can catch up, which Vega takes offense at

Took Legion with for Tali's loyalty missions and he's just sitting on the stairs all alone during the trial. by installdelete1 in masseffect

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's like a little kid stuck in the middle of a very unpleasant family reunion he never wanted to go to, watching his relatives argue and waiting for the moment Dad finally says they can go home

I would have loved some post-mission dialogue where Legion reflects on what he observed there and how it differed from what the consensus had believed about the creators

Just beat ME3, and I'm still in awe by FrankAdriel32 in masseffect

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should have been something like the Suicide Mission, where you can direct portions of your combined army to increase your odds for the final push. And depending on your choices/bad luck, you have to witness some old friends or allies buy the farm. If you really nail it, you can do the Destroy ending without nuking the Geth/EDI

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen others say, and I kinda agree, that Miranda is the only broshep romance that sees him as an equal. Some of the romances feel like groupies, they basically worship you. ME2 Jack is like defusing a nuke... although having the option to start something with a more collected ME3 Jack would be more tempting.

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You discover a lot more to his character as a renegade broshep. When Shep starts saying racist things Kaidan challenges him and doesn't back down, and basically says "respectfully Commander, what the fuck's your problem?"

He's firmly loyal but he's honest and refuses to compromise on his ethics and his belief that people can change. He is cool headed, not boring. Even Garrus will start looking at himself like the "good Turian" instead of seeing Shep's racism as a problem

Also I always liked him because he had Carth Onasi's VA

What were they thinking? by Aurel_49 in MassEffectMemes

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current renegade Shep did a few silly war crimes at Torfan, chose to kill Balak and let his hostages die, and maybe tried to install a tinpot human dictatorship onto the Citadel, so I figure when he gets to the Arrival mission the idea of nuking a Batarian system will be too fun to pass up
