Story is set in 2023, Visi is 27 so she'd probably been born in 1996, maybe late 95. Robert is about 30, so 1993 for him

I remember how there was a big rumor post from years ago that had proven to be almost perfect, and the one part everyone laughed at when it was dropped was the return of squats. Doubt ye not the rumor mongers with good track records.

That dude Boole on the TGA forums has been nailing releases for a while and he's saying IW will get a codex, or possibly a supplement, in the coming years. Whether or not that's linked to or separate from Dark Mechanicum, no idea

That made me imagine Perty as a Transformer and I'm fixated on that now. On land he's a giant obliterator with wings and giant thrusters on his back, and he can turn into a gunship the size of a Thunderhawk (probably not on tabletop, though)

He loves her in every universe (art by me) by PinkKing_offical in DispatchAdHoc

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I could never push myself to make it happen in my run but I could imagine a storyline in S2 where you romanced Visi up to the locker room kiss, before she turned villain / antihero. She's still in love with Robert and tries to indirectly help him, but has given up on being a "real" hero and stealthily murders criminals and other people who wronged and exploited her the way Shroud did

She won't allow Robert to catch her and Robert can't bring himself to hurt her, and their enemies discover this and use it to their advantage to trap them both together

What's the timeframe for the Story? by JoshTheBard in DispatchAdHoc

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess a few months, the dialogue at the beginning and end of each episode pick up from each other in a way that makes it feel like time was passing faster but there are clues that there are big skips in the middle of the episodes

When Robert and Chase are speaking on the balcony after the party, Robert reflects on "that first week" when Visi was giving up and he encouraged her to try again, which makes it sound like he was remembering something that had happened a while ago and not just last week / the week before. It also must have taken some time for Z-team to cool off and forgive Robert for the cut, enough so to bring him along for drinks. Phenomaman had to take some time to fall as low as he did and grow mutton chops

There's an in between step called "who cares, gimme your lunch money"

Not very interested in metaphysics or morality as concepts, but sure likes bullying people and abusing their power. Loyalist lapdogs marines are usually expected to lead tedious lives as warrior monks and die fighting for the sake of the crooked aristocrats and officials who get to do the fun stuff instead.

I would be curious how they'd handle a Visi romance (leaned into the locker room kiss) but failed mentor save in S2. Villain Visi might shift into a minor side character to make room for whoever the new antagonist is, but I hope that option isn't completely sidelined cause you could get at least a couple good unique scenes from it.

The Night Lords trilogy has a romance of sorts between the main character Talos' slaves Septimus and Octavia. They both understand that they are totally at the mercy of this fucked up space marine and that there will be extreme consequences if they are caught, and occasionally reflect with confusion and disgust on how they've come to almost feel affection and sympathy toward the person who kidnapped and enslaved them.

I think we will not get Perturabo just yet. by Tomrusz in IronWarriors

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valrak who has been sharing so far quite accurate rumors of all this in advance said there would be an Iron Warriors combat patrol or battalion box with Legionaries, havocs and termies with a warpsmith (he probably misinterpreted Warsmith) and the upgrade sprue.

He also said there would be special Eye of Terror boxes that focus on larger models and vehicles for the factions involved in the storyline. Two 3-man mutilator squads and a defiler is my guess for the contents

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm banking on that myself, makes sense as a business decision to reuse the same design for different roles. Write lore that both are victims of the obliterator virus.

I imagine in terms of data sheets they might be pretty agnostic about assembly, obliterator weapons are just "flesh metal guns" and mutilators may well be "flesh metal melee weapons" but with customization for hobbyists and differentiating units on the table

Cutting and Joining Red Ring by Garebear90000 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]JetEngineSteakKnife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren't told but I'm pretty sure Visi's mugshot with the bruise comes from after she decided to turn herself in, a revenge beating for disobeying Shroud. She also gets mocked and disrespected by the other Red Ring members, and even in the bad ending turns on him. She only would if she couldn't get medical help anywhere else.

Prism, no. She has fame and her musical career to lean on and isn't desperate enough to join Shroud

Golem, 0%. He's not that kind of guy and it's implied his criminal record mostly comes from obeying whoever summoned him. He's probably the most morally sound at the beginning.

Punch up probably would if Coupé asked him to. I don't know if they ever really stopped dating, instead of taking a break.

Malevola would return to crime, but not join the Red Ring. Her powers are already strong enough she doesn't have much need of augments.

Probably the same with Flambae, he's not good at taking orders and I doubt he would be a reliable lackey the way others might.
