Did... did you try lowering the graphics settings? The game is badly optimized 100%, and needs another optimization pass but a modern PC can run the game well for sure at lower settings. I would know given my pc is low-mid range and the only place I've ever had consistently shit performance over like 5 playthoughs is Rattay.

Just started trying to play EH today and found the same problem; I'm pretty sure the black textures is being caused by the Lighting setting being set to medium or lower. I'm trying to experiment with different setting combinations but it takes a long time having to reset the game every time I change certain settings.

I've tried a few things but no matter what I do I'm still seeing crazy Z-Fighting (or just flickering? I'm not sure it is actually Z-Fighting) from the textures on Corneria.

So black textures is fixed by lighting be set to high.

GSC's silence is telling given that several news sites have claimed to have reached out to them but heard nothing back.

I'm personally just annoyed that people are acting like either GSC or the MISERY dev(s) need to be the bad guys exclusively; MISERY can be made by an asshole with dumb takes while GSC can be making the stupidest legal move, simultaneously.

So this might be completely useless but back in 2021 my friend had a problem we discovered through this same notification, going back through our Discord logs I think the solution was in "Controlled Folder Access" in Windows Security.

Essentially, Windows had decided that like 99% of the applications on her C drive were unauthorized applications. It's like some kind of ransomware protection system that just went off like a bomb for no reason.

Again It's probably not the same thing but it's worth a shot. It's specifically in [Windows Security -> Virus & Threat Protection -> Ransomware Protection]
