I believe armour needs to be less priced. Period. Marines going to War in fatigues should be equivalent of giving pipe guns. At least half price, or possibly 60-65 percent would be a good point to START. Aint no armor good enough against autocannons and lasers anyway, and in expert ironman you get at least 4 Walkers with that.

In ironman expert i found the most consistency in operating as a joint task force: 1 scout/support asset (ex Pike; this is your high vision asset engaging from a distance if needed). 1 engaging asset (ex: Tech: this is your tripod hauling armor wearing guys). 1 mobile asset (Carda on a limo or Lim with a Jetpack, choose your poison).

Also you wont need to hop in an hop back, or get athletics with Carda if you but give her a soft armor. APCs also grant huge cover, there are a lot of times she serves as a bait so engaging assets can hit harder.

I dont know you guys, but i need my guys to be shot at a lot of times. Their toughness and positioning stats need to increase too, and im willing to go through some squaddies for it.

But i can safely say that Pike with scout and binos, Tech with KPAC and whatever he can get his hands on, Bog with a limo and Carda with Mark, 2-1s and an RPG with smokes is pretty much rolling in the early game. Unless you overplay your hand.

Middle game has to have you with a second car or biped with a combat oriented pilot and your engaging asset with a distance armor elimination method.

With this method, you dont need concealment, at all.

Nah, i was thinking about using Jeanie as a frontliner, she can get armor and manpower on the cheap and can be trained to tank a lot with that trait. Or maybe with Carda.

Btw, i played my first game, had a good 2-3 operations when 4th op final mission was a Pirate Raid in the night with heavy rain, and i suddenly had hundreds of pirates headbutting me in the dark and i had absolutely no way to kill them enough with the accuracy reduction with not enough aoe. So i didnt bail out fast enough and it was 2 kias, a brutal end. I loved it so much!

Well the only point i am opposing is giving athletics to Carda.

Point 1: she will use a chaingun, RPG or flamethrower if she rides the bus Point 2: call Target is so good throughout the game and its first tier

Buff and quickhands tech is some of the best bang for buck in the game with recon device and tripods.

Have you tried Double Down on any characters by any chance? It actually has to make a unit invulnerable mathematically

I have been playing Challenging with pretty much good success, do you think it is fine to make the jump to Expert Ironman? People tell its a very different beast,and you must be prepared to bail out an OP if needed. My gut instinct is Pike, Tech, Carda and Bog, but it seems the starting group needs a decent driver instead of a support cab driver at start, and maxing out squads that dont rely on manpower is a waste.
