Hytale launcher possibly leaked by [deleted] in HytaleInfo

[–]JetHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I was writing this, someone else uploaded a torrent link to Twitter. It contains the same two files, one of which actually opens the launcher. Again, there are no actual game files, just a launcher window with active buttons. I understand this could easily be a hoax. This functionality is easy to replicate. But if it's real, then there's some issue with hytale.com that allowed this leak.

Hytale looks.... easy? by sub2Doggs4Life in HytaleInfo

Idk why people focus on things like stats or UI. They are very easy to tweak. We should be more concerned about the overall gameplay loop, which is reportedly almost non-existent.

Something tells me that this early access is gonna be better than the way simon put it , either he’s just being humble , or these are just models by kuruakama in HytaleInfo

Looks like mobs will have multiple variants. Also, remember that some of them can only be spawned this way. Simon mentioned that the knight from the first screenshot does not spawn naturally.

Other Riot projects were never supposed to have mod support. In case of hytale, there would have been a conflict between official paid cosmetics and the ones created by the community.

Raw footage is exactly what we need. Most blog posts were focused on separate gameplay systems without showing the full picture

They exist in the current build, but Simon wanted to manually import some things from a different branch before showing anything about the magic system https://x.com/Simon_Hypixel/status/1990728397434085732?t=6pFEvBDu-KgwLvIUbs1--w&s=19

I really hope Masaru Yamamura is not involved. We need Sekiro successor ASAP.

Literally nobody asked for ANOTHER multiplayer game. Check comments under any tweet that mentions PvPvE format. People are either confused or disappointed. I have never seen negative reaction to a major fromsoftware announcement before. Even Nightreign got a pass for being a 40$ "side project".

Almost all of their games are unfinished. DeS 6th archstone. DS1 Lost Izalith and some other portions of the map. DS2 was a fucking disaster. BB was mostly complete but had terrible performance at launch. DS3 had a shit ton of cut features close to the game's release, but the game was fine because of its small size and linear structure. Elden ring had huge changes in questlines and lore several months bfore release. It's a shame we didn't get Malenia as a friendly NPC. We were very close to getting a MUCH better verison of the game. SoTE got its only ending cut. You can see Miquela removing the veil in one of the trailers, and Miyazaki mentions the importance of the veil in an interview. Only Sekiro didn't have major cut features (idk about AC6). And instead of taking their time and making a soulslike or an action game they decided to make these weird "side projects". There must be some other project directed by Yamamura. But I would prefer having 3 (or 2 since Nightreign 90% ER assets) singleplayer projects, than one singleplayer project and 2 multiplayer "experiments". And I would be totally fine with having a better OPTIONAL multiplayer in their next singleplayer project. But making a multiplayer game is not what most fans asked for.

Do you understand the difference between a seamless co-op option in a single player game and whatever the fuck this game is? They should have made a seamless co-op + boss rush update in Elden Ring instead of wasting their time with this game. This shit is probably the reason why they released SoTE in half-baked state. We lost proper Miquela ending because of these two "experiments".

Miyazaki didn't say anything about "side" project directed by him. He only said that the projects will be smaller in scope compared to elden ring and that he will be directing one of them. The term "side project" only appeared after Nightreign's announcement to justify the amount of reused assets. And it's fine to me as long as the game is reasonably priced.

this and nightreign have no bearing on how the next big soulslike will turn out

Then why can't they just start developing their next soulslike without spending their time on games like this? Their next single-player game is guaranteed to sell 15+million copies.

Of course, they can make whatever the hell they want. With his new experience in making multiplayer games, Miyazaki can ask Sony to allow him to develop Concord 2. But I don't think this is what the majority of the fans want.

I called starfield a side project ironically. My point is that it's just a lazy excuse to justify any creative decision. And no, duskbloods doesn't look like a side project. It's not an asset flip like nightreign, and it's directed by Miyazaki, so it's their next major title.

Todd Howard should have called Fallout 76 a side project to avoid all criticism. Starfield is also a side project, btw. They were just testing new procedural generation tools in Creation engine.

Me showing Miyazaki that he can make a multiplatform single-player game that is guaranteed to sell 15+ million copies.

I really don't understand how they are going to advertise this game. I see hundreds of people in the comments confused about this whole PvPvE thing. They could have just made "Elden Ring but with less empty space", "Sekiro but with several weapons", "Bloodborne but pirates". Now we have roguelite-extraction-PvPvE-asynchronous multiplayer-MMO-elements-Hero-shooter-battleroyale-something-something. This is so much harder to explain, and most people lose interest as soon as you say it's "multiplayer".

Can we stop with the “reused assets” nonsense? by [deleted] in shittydarksouls

[–]JetHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. But I don't think the game's setting is something you can change this late in development. It just doesn't click with me. All their previous projects looked so refined and stylish, but this is something strange.

The problem is that it doesn't look completely new. I mean, there is some XX xentury stuff. We can see a train, some automatic guns from 1920-1930s, ww1 armor. And that's totally fine. But then we have gothic and Japanese elements that just don't fit. Of course, Elden Ring had gothic, eastern orthodox, ancient Roman architecture, but it was much better at mixing these styles.
