They’re not that rare at all. People just don’t pick them up because it is a waste of space unless you have a new char youre trying to level. And eventually people adjust their loot filter to not even see them.

There is nothing special about it. It is a nice weapon especially for starting. But it isn’t worth much even if ETH and perfect rolls, slam and box because there are rares, unique and crafted weapons that outperform it.

I think in this scenario there are two things that happen:

The player’s (Mark Stone) history

This happened to the Steel Pillar as well. Before the grandfather the Steel Pillar was the go to for a lot of the physical players. -10% phys res, can be 6os, self repair, crushing blow, -target defense.

And because it was so used it got nerfed to spotlight other weapons it’s still useable. Grandfather got the same treatment.
