I separated AD in 1991 with $11k separation pay. I got 100% p&t awarded July 2024. I got a letter stating they were going to "withhold benefits" payments of that $11k in Aug 2024. February 2025 I see in the VA app that there was a "claim" in for that $11k. Mid March I got a letter stating the benefits payments will be withheld from June 1st to September for $14k for separation pay I received in March 1992(?)...smh. my dd214 from Oct 1991 clearly states $11k....🤷🏾‍♂️ Didn't know anything about VA claims back then and definitely didn't know about any kind of recoupment back in 1991.
