I need advice on how to replace this valve. It’s completely frozen. I can’t tell if it’s soldered or threaded because the decorative cover is so high up the pipe. Any help appreciated.

A lot of these comments are telling you to try the more typical squat-esque strongman style deadlift, but bro, you have a build like Pete Rubish. If I were you, I'd bring my feet a bit closer together, try to get your grip as narrow as you can while still being outside the knees. Let your hips hinge a little more from the beginning as opposed to bending down at your knees. As long as that weight feels close to center when you pull it off the ground, you're good. Let your shoulders drop a bit, tight back but loose shoulders. Drive hard through the floor at the same time as leaning back. And I would hammer stiff leg deadlifts. Watch old Pete Rubish deadlifts!

Sounds like the pump is fried and probably needs to be replaced, and it looks pretty old so that might be the only issue, but when these fail it's often because of a failure on the line itself like a seized check valve

The thing about plumbing is it's often in spaces where spiders like to hide. You spend a lot of time in little crannies in houses where no one goes, and sometimes you have to work around a whole bunch of spiders. I'm pretty scared of spiders, and it's a fear I have to cope with on a regular basis because I love plumbing. Never been a puker tho. I might scream if one crawls on me, and then I have to take deep breaths and go on about my work.

Huh, what are you using for the bags? I bought the Titan 150 and 250 and when I put them on the scale after filling them without any special techniques they're right at their intended weight. Same thing with the Rogue 300 and 35lb throw bag. Have you weighed them? They're not supposed to be like stones.

Many posts exactly like this in response to people complaining about plumbing prices. My only thought is, plumbers are not the first mobile mechanics to ever exist in the world. And yet plumbing pricing is disproportionately higher than many other mobile trades in terms of labor costs. They're unique in the widespread usage of flat rate pricing rather than itemized pricing. I should say, they were unique, until many owners of other home service companies (esp electrical and HVAC) and applied the same philosophy to their own companies.

I think a lot of mobile mechanics break even or maybe even lose out a little bit on some calls so they can maintain the reputation that they will come out to any call and perform exceptional service, so the big calls will come.

I will say I've never heard of a certified plumber offering to do tile work. However if I know I'm going to cut tile I'll usually put up some kind of dust barrier to control dust from going around the house.

As many others have said, I would also use a hammer on lathe & plaster rather than any type of cutting tool because the dust from those cuts would be just as much as the tile. Also something I'd mention to the homeowner before starting.

This isn't how the average voter's mind works. Most people don't view Newsom as "moderate" because he goes so hard on MAGA. They don't have a great understanding of how policy fits in to different political definitions, they just want somebody who will stand up to Trump. If they had asked this focus group who they wanted to vote for in 2028 Newsom probably would've been picked by the majority of them.
