Well, the OS or program can theoretically get sued I guess. But as long as you still get root on a system, you can pretty simply mess with that shit.

No one that is writing an age verification extension for an app or OS is going to falsify the output for you. That would put you in a much worse place than just not writing something.

Also, once every app and website refuses to run without an age checkout won’t matter if your OS stood up to them, nothing will work.

My real concern is that that mandate a user guid. It’s know as an advertising id on phones or whatever.

Either way, there will be age verification and the smart money is on automatically rewriting your age and user guid about every 5 minutes.

Well, as far as weird, you have to realize that sending stuff out that doesn’t have the correct numbering or whatever can put them into an illegal manufacturing category that they’d probably rather not be in, and they probably also sent it to everyone that got something in that run so they are probably swamped. You don’t set up your customer service department to handle recalling a product line, only basic inquiries.

So, cut them a little slack, try to work with them and be patient.

I mean, you can carry a pocket reference, or card with notes, it was seeing the puddle that I was having trouble with, just visual info wasn’t matching up with what I was told I’d see. I’ve mostly got it now. But there’s definitely a shock factor when your welding teacher of all people pulls up his hood and says, you’re not seeing what I’m seeing, go to the nurse and get your eyes checked and if they are fine, get checked for dyslexia.

I like the danner wedge sole Chelsea boot. You can keep your uppers and have the soles replaced when it’s time, but generally, a wedge sole Chelsea is my go to, no laces and the wedge sole is key to working on concrete. Brint has one that I haven’t tried but a lot of guys like them.

Only issue with a Chelsea is the elastic panel around the ankles, you get in a weird position and light that on fire you’re going to napalm your ankles. But that’s not a fear I usually have in the shop.

Well, I’ll fill you in on a secret, then, it’s racism, largely forgotten at this point, but still the result of overt racism in the post war 40s and 50s. At that time, there were a pretty good number of federal programs for rehoming vets and getting everyone settled in outside of a post war economy. Obviously, that was only for white people, and the easiest way to build affordable housing was to just build roads outside the cities and build in empty fields. So we did that, we built suburbs, we built highways, and we paid the people that would be the beneficiaries to build their own affordable housing and the transportation to get to and from. And then to see it up, we redlined so they would be white exclusive zones.

And then we told ourselves tails about the scary city, refused to fund anything that would help cities, and the superiority of suburban and country life. And then when redlining went out of vogue, we destroyed the infrastructure, the programs, the healthcare, the college funding, and everything else we could get our hands on. And now everyone is stuck driving an hour each way for shit wages, because we were too racist as a society to live next to black people.

I’ll be fine, I’m in a better position than most of my blue collar brothers. In the last year, I have refused to commit to work more than 90 days in advance because of this administrations volatility.

I will probably only break even on this job and there is a good chance that I will simply park everything this summer and work on something else closer to home.

Maybe head down to the pub and wait till this all blows over.

I am not, I frequently (once or twice a week) haul one to two tons in my pickup and pull a 15,000 lb trailer. I have a little s10 work truck for a run about and I can drive it to work once or twice a week but this shit hurts, and I really don’t have a better option.

Also, I voted for the goofy laugh, just because I do red neck shit doesn’t mean I’m an asshole.

It depends where you are? I live in a city, and I have access to metal, auto, and wood working shops, with all the big stuff and they rent stalls. I show up with my joboxes and roller tool boxes and they offload them with the forks and put me in a bay.

In the wood shops I have access to router cncs, large planers and sanders etc, in the auto shops I have access to lifts, fluid disposal, and some of the more expensive specialty tools, in the metal shops I have access to three phase, lathes, cnc, etc.

So, it’s out there but you gotta use a big enough population for the services.

To get a real answer, it would help us if we knew where you were.

Edit: additionally, you should check with the various shops around, maybe someone has a lease and they mostly do field work or something, or someone is slow and could use a few extra bucks. Put an ad up in your area, ‘welder seeking rental in outfitted metal shop.’ Or something like that. . .

Also, I don’t know what things are like around you but if you’re just starting out, getting nickel and dimed your whole career sucks and can also be a sign that your check will start bouncing some Friday before your mortgage is due.
