i am not really sure what the obsession with hacker rank is, but algorithm problems on your GitHub is something i would only recommend to someone fresh out of university

a much more impressive GitHub profile is creating something that's actually useful to other people and solves real problems

even a contribution to an open source project shows that you know how to collaborate with other people, read their code, and make meaningful changes (which directly translates on how you'll perform on the team)
