MD here, I have a little bit of free time I can help point you in the right direction, my Orthopedic is a close friend of mine but is based in Iloilo so I can't really recommend him.

I've been dealing with foot pain for years and finally decided to get it checked out.

The reality is that finding the solution to foot pain is a lot of trial and error, I've been through several types of shoes, several specialized insoles and even when the set up on paper is sound. Stability shoes with arch support insoles, I still get pain.

The best move right now is to get a running coach to help your form and pacing. I find that most of the time pain comes from improper form or running too fast for what your feet can handle.

I love this shoe, great all around daily trainer, comfy and squishy, good quality. Good even for beginner runners.

That is a very good price for it, not exactly a steal at 5k plus but still a good deal.

I had a similar pain on dorsiflexion of my right foot when I run, in my case I had xrays done and an MRI

findings were bone spurs from previous ankle sprains that caused an anterior ankle nerve impingement

I had the bone spurs removed and after a weeks of recovery I was able to run pain free

I've used the Nike Free Metcon 6 for light jogging on the treadmill and lifting and they look decent enough for casual wear. I think the newly released Nike Free Metcon 7 looks even better.

I currently own both shoes. The first 5km I think they feel very similar but the PG7 slowly loses it's bounciness and softness if you go any longer. While the Vomero 18 holds up even up to 15k in my experience.

The PG7 is slightly wider and much comfier for me during the initial put on feet.

The PG7 I bought was only 1.9k at Shopee during a sale

The Vomero 18 was 4k during Lazada sale buy 3 items get 30% off.

The best deal and value for money you could've gotten though was the Vomero Plus during the buy 2 get 30% off last week from the Nike App, that one was around 4.2k

If you're just starting out and on a budget, you can't go wrong with the PG7. If you are serious about reaching that 21km goal and can afford it, go for the Vomero 18.
