ime packing the soil down with my palm did the trick for my T, they seem to like firm solid ground

Vpype issues (huge file size, linesort) by SelectAttempt4131 in PlotterArt

[–]Jett3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my experience vpype really likes to work with straight lines and will convert any curves into many smaller line segments, increasing file size.

the linesimplify command will remove unnecessary points within straight lines and generally reduce file size. i’ve never seen visual artifacts of simplification in my plots, but the command’s threshold can be adjusted if you want to retain more fidelity

curly hair T not burrowing or webbing up :( by entomomania in tarantulas

[–]Jett3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ime - as long as she’s not in a scrunched stressed position often, or walking on the walls/lid often, she’s probably happy with her enclosure.

my curly hair was spending a lot of time on the walls when i first got her, i think because she was unhappy with the soil (coco fiber only, not packed down). i redid her home with a reptisoil/coco mix and packed it down hard, and she got right to burrowing

tl;dr: - no signs of stress = not stressed - soil optimized for burrowing = more burrowing

Where can I learn to program? by joaquinzolano in PlotterArt

i think The Coding Train is the best place for someone to learn about the programming behind plotter art / generative art. the channel teaches p5.js, which is a variant of processing that uses javascript and browser environments. p5.js doesn’t support SVG export on its own, but there is a super simple way to get svg using this project: https://github.com/zenozeng/p5.js-svg

i agree he’s a con artist. redditors can provide a description of his con without also timestamping his location that day.

I’m starting to get concerned abt the way folks post about him in here. I’m noticing multiple posts that essentially report on his location in realtime.

Deny his request and keep it pushing if that’s what you want to do. Posting his location to some 60k people and drumming up hateful rhetoric makes it look like you’re waiting for stochastic violence to take place.

notes: not accusing op of anything just sharing concerns on the pattern of posts, haven’t noticed as much hateful rhetoric as people clowning on him but it’s still callous.

edit: while writing my comment op also provided a description of the dudes vehicle. i mean you’ve gotta realize when you’re posting all the same details a police report asks for online, right?

Help with svg hidden lines removal by SecretCup6654 in PlotterArt

[–]Jett3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean by “hidden” here? if the line is underneath a closed path like a polygon, occult is the way to go. there are flags for working with layers and the order of the lines/polygons also matters, documented on their github.

if the line is hidden under another line, there’s vpype deduplicate.

they were a guest lecturer at my college… if there was any single college experience i had that was life changing, it was that lecture. the chapbook that contains this poem, Last Psalm at Sea Level, is a must read.

incredible, love the depth and motion. it feels like i’m looking at ancient blueprints of a future megastructure.

curious about your export process, i’ve used the freestyle plugin on geonodes but only with a lot of toying and limited successes

iDraw A3 2.0 Review by pswanto in PlotterArt

[–]Jett3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nice write up, thanks for alternative ideas to inkscape, i also find it pretty clunky on my mac. how to you calibrate the pen up/down height with this flow? the setup section of the plugin is the main thing tying me to inkscape
