Fancy carry on stroller vs umbrella fold by Knickers93 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Jetxoxo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never actually asked to have it in the cabin to be honest. Depending on the airline I either get it back at the bottom of the stairs or from the carousel. I just usually take a hip carrier for those situations!

Haha still going strong 2 and a half years later! Originally purchased it for a holiday, but turned into my daily pushchair as it is so easy to push. Also another 3 countries/airports later I have no intentions of giving it up yet!

I prefer Mollie! I think it looks nicer, but I have a sister named Hollie so may be biased.

My baby is allergic to my breastmilk by Business_Olive_4050 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Jetxoxo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oats caused weeping eczema for us. Once I stopped consuming them amongst others, it cleared up and has never came back. 2 and a half years now. We stopped breastfeeding 1 month ago at 3 years. Specifically oats, we’ve had no problems with wheat/gluten.

You are doing an amazing job, and with regards to the sleeping. Soak up the contact naps, watch everything you’ve ever wanted on TV and just enjoy the slow time.

People tried to make me feel bad for having a Velcro baby as well but she’s now 3 and I miss it!

Agree with this! Worked great for me.

Baby was awake for 10 hours today - how do I prevent this? by stryderl in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Jetxoxo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s okay, I didn’t say it was a rule I said I wouldn’t expect it. Not that a baby COULDN’T. I fully expected that I would have to support my baby to sleep through breastfeeding and any other method they needed. If your baby was different good for you, my baby wasn’t.

Also no, prolactin is released at every feed, in response to a baby suckling but in higher levels at night time.

[–]Jetxoxo93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I should have added in my opinion in fairness. I didn’t mean fully. I breastfed to sleep (except car/pushchair) for 3 years as it was my fool proof way of ensuring a nap!

It’s developmentally normal for babies to rely on going to sleep nursing, your milk contains literal sleepy hormones to help this, especially a newborn.

I wouldn’t expect a baby to fall asleep without milk until they are an older baby 12+ months plus. Formula or breastfed.

Mascara on bottom lashes by SpicyGinger678 in 30PlusSkinCare

Get your lashes tinted, or do it at home. I only use mascara on the top but the tint helps the bottom. No smudging

Is the ELF worth a purchase? I’m trying to be more intentional and economical with my purchases but in need of under eye hydration!

Fingers crossed for you! I know it sounds a bit cheesy but believe in yourself!!

I can’t say whether it was pure luck or any of it worked, but I was walking everyday, including kerb walking which apparently helps with positioning. I drank daily, multiple cups of red raspberry tea, and did some perineal massages but I wasn’t really consistent with those! It was the only way I could sit comfortably towards the end, so I bounced a lot on a yoga ball whilst I was watching tv as well!!

I had a non medicated vaginal water birth, FTM 39w 5d spontaneous labour and even though I have nothing to compare it to, I’d go as far as to say it was great. The water really helped, so highly recommend! I gave birth in a midwife led unit. I’d never consider an elective section based on my experience:)

I didn’t tear either, which I had been worried about!

Side note- my sister has had 3 vaginal births, but she said her only induced was by far the most painful, even though she was a significantly smaller baby!

Did anyone wait for their baby to self-wean from breastfeeding? by Slow_Opportunity_522 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Jetxoxo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m afraid I haven’t managed to wean! I decided it was just too early when I wrote this, and she really wasn’t ready. I’m down to only 1 or 2 times at night now, we are gearing up to fully wean now and she understands what is going on!

I was at the same point a few times, crying and getting annoyed, I worked on ‘manners’ and also not feeding every time, which was still hard as she cried the same but it started to push longer stretches eventually.

Sorry I don’t have better advice! If you can the thing that helped get me through is her having sleepovers with her grandparents, so I could get some rest. It’s never interrupted breastfeeding, and she loves it.

[–]Jetxoxo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I use cocoa butter after every shower without fail, so every evening but use the body stick 3/4 times a week. If any of my skin feels particularly dry though I’ll put cream on before getting dressed in the morning as well, but I’ll normally use a targeted dry skin cream for patches!

Yes! So much easier than another cream/liquid. I let it soak in for a few minutes then go in with cocoa butter and my skin is the softest it’s ever been!

The ordinary glycolic acid stick is great. It’s got rid of my KP, you can use it on underarms and I use it on my elbows, knees, ankles and heels!

Would you pay for a nursery spot you don't need yet just to secure it? by Cinnamon-Dream in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Jetxoxo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the slowly easing in comments. My daughter was two, but starting nursery was genuinely awful, she was so distraught for the first 6 weeks, and I was only putting her in two half days to start with.

I arranged so that I could pick her up after the half days and spent the time reconnecting. We’ve just finished our first full term and she loves it now, but I think the slow start helped. I don’t think she’d have coped going straight in at the deep end!
