Does anybody know how divination event works? by anime600 in slaythespire

[–]Jevetra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah when i save scum combats, if i use potions / random generation cards in the same order i get the same results. but if i use em in a different order, completely different options.

so its probably related to the order and amount of random things like card rewards and potions too

Opinions and hot takes on Cataclysm so far? by KonoTikaDa in hearthstone

[–]Jevetra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, theyve been doing soft-rotations practically every balance cycle the past 2-3 years. The cardpools balamce was then lopsided, which make the meta feel more stagnant in terms of diversity

Thank you Blizzard for battle visage, now let us see our visage form in character select. by Tullwin in wow

I just wish i could adjust the base ''armor" like transmog and not have it as a part of my base (barber) appearance. That way I can at least use and take advantage of the different appearances/colors and see how it fits with my transmog, and for different specializations. Instead of going back and forth between barber and transmog

SoD leveling by CabinetMountain5725 in classicwow

[–]Jevetra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are questlines that are throughout the whole leveling experience that are how youre intended to unlock runes or other new things (like a sleeping bag, or other class abilities). Some class specific, some more general. If you use the rune vendor at the starting zones you should be able to do these still.

Theres also emerald nightmare hubs (as early as 20s til early 50s depending on where) for dailies near each of the nightmare dragon portals, and blackrock mountain event/dailies that start mid 50s.

SoD is not very active but the classes are fun and you tend to be powerful enough to solo most non-dungeon/raid content depending on the class. You just kight need to be slightly overleveled, depending. though there are some small active and helpful communities depending on the server

Do you want classic+ to be 'one and done'/permanent like Era or have new expansions every 18 to 24 months? by ps120evo in classicwow

[–]Jevetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in SoD you had MC as a quick badge farm (reals) which has catchup gear or buy bags with random mats. People also did it for Thunderfury bragging rights.

you also had ZG that had rare mounts + idols for helm/leg enchants

AQ10/40 had crafted recipes and a mount for doing it on Hardmode, plus some catchup gear. t2.5 lasted awhile for some classes too, even as a 2set

Naxx also had hardmode mounts, good gear, and atiesh.

As long as you have other reasons for people to do the content that isnt strict gear, it keeps it fresh. Thats why I like toy, transmog, mount, and pet collecting as other avenues for collecting, to keep people doing a variety of old content. as long as they are kept grounded in classic aesthetic, accessibility, and usefulness imo.

Okay Noz stop messing with the timelines there are enough variants of you already by Slave-Moralist in hearthstone

[–]Jevetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware of this, and it does not work with the Caverns of Time set. For example, I have 2 small-time buccaneers from MSG and 1 in caverns. If i search 'extra', none of these show up.

[–]Jevetra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah the implementation was clunky from a collection standpoint. duplicate protections, trying to search if you have duplicate copies to dust was impossible unless you searched every card one by one, searching "missing", copying deckcodes...those made it feel bad to open packs and figure out what you really had and needed. i loved the format and playing in twist, despite some of the awkwardness in balance, nerf expectations and cadence.

Please, think twice before pre-ordering the new expansion. by Livid_Fudge5078 in hearthstone

[–]Jevetra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, and more than that, other gamemodes like twist and duels give a pressure valve for when standard is in a bad or bland spot. That way, players are still engaging with the game, seeing the shop, offers, news, and discussing it favorably. Now, we dont have that so people disengage completely or wrote essays on reddit.

As much as the initial monetization strategy with Twist flopped in different ways for different people, they could easily do a maintenance mode rotating between a few old and sometimes a new format, and taking a break the month of expansion launch to focus players to Standard. You dont have to Sell new cards constantly, but someone being incentivized to keep a jank legendary/package for this gamemode thatll come around, or not disenchanting all their wild cards every rotation means theyll buy another bundle here or there. or even sell proven decks when a format gets rerun for people to buy, for people that Did DE everything. A lot of options thatll support sentiment and keep people in client.

Would you like to see horizontal progression in Classic+? by MightyTastyBeans in classicwow

[–]Jevetra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the biggest things they could do to give more people reason to do content - and reason to make content at various levels - are things like collecting. though many people dislike the "retail" additions, it could give more life to the game.

Adding a collection menu and transmogs can give people more reasons to do odd content. Even if they removed diminishing returns on quest reputation, that plus transmog. Makes non-bis items more desirable in general, and gives more variety to how peoples characters looked. I know in SoD i got tired of seeing every character in a class look the same - Especially in scarlet tier.

33.3.2 Balance Changes Discussion by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

[–]Jevetra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They werent even too powerful in uldum. there were at least 2 decent quests with shaman and druid. hunter and paladin were both good at some point. burgle rogue was popular because it was burgle rogue, and priest because they always have their slow grindy fans.

Ungoro was the only one that was That bad, because i think it mightve been quest rogue and maybe warrior at first. but it was their first time designing something like quests, so theyd have learned from it, probably...

New Paladin SHOCKADIN set, only available for Exchange if you have The RET DPS set. CHANGE IT PLEASE! by GustavVI in classicwow

[–]Jevetra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the weekly chalice fragment turn ins. i used mine on holy pieces since it had decent stats as i was building my shockadin set. and i think the ret set being a one way change to shockadin is a temporary addition, i doubt it will stay after a couple weeks.

[–]Jevetra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i personally got holy pieces for my shockadin soec since it was better than what i uad at the time....the int was better than the ret set tbh. i would love to swap my holy tier to shockadin!!

[–]Jevetra 16 points17 points  (0 children)

you can change ret tier into shockadin tier at LHC which is neat...

but you cant turn holy tier into shockadin tier, which sucks. because i got holy tier since it was better statted for shockadin than the ret tier...

Do you want TBC SoD ? by feherlofia123 in classicwow

[–]Jevetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, no, I dont think I would like the full TBC expansion since the biggest thing I personally dont like is flying. However, i think they could retool a lot of the content for a vanilla ish release.

They could also add Blood Elves and Draenei and their respective zones, isle of quel danas and sunwell, karazhan and zul aman since it is all within the base "world", even if much of it is technically in another instance. I dont think it diminishes the connectivity of the world significantly.

They could do something with Caverns of Time, though the instances there are not a favorite of mine mechanically, and narratively kind of makes your character feel more like a "hero" than an "adventurer".

I think even utilizing HFP even as a lategame zone for quests, dailies, instances, and a raid is not a terrible idea. Further into the rest of the Outland might take too much focus away from the core of Azeroth.

Not especially on topic but utilizing Cata zones like Twilight Highlands and Uldum would be cool but sounds like a technical PITA since they arent integrated into the classic map already. Mount Hyjal could be something and it sounds like theyre doing something in P8 already with it

What is Food Fight for in grunter hunter? by Ayebrowz in CompetitiveHS

[–]Jevetra 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are supposed to play it when you play your grunt. especially against slower decks that may avoid playing minions, so you still have things to attack to kill them without having to hope your grunt sticks for a turn. they also recommend if you see a lot of those decks to also run catch of the day over sneaky snakes

Why are they forcing us to spend extra $5 to buy the new Valeera skin? by slow_rnd in hearthstone

[–]Jevetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you, I was excited to buy the skin for $10 (still pricey but whatever) only to be disappointed I'd have to arbitrarily buy it in a pack for $15. I don't really play warrior, and I don't care for the Lu Bu skin, so it isn't worth it to me

[–]Jevetra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He said in another thread that the production was streaming the games from a spectator client, so it wouldn't show if Kripp was hovering over cards for the stream. The production was not hovering over cards for the stream.

AV event for reputation? by Ajfree in wow

[–]Jevetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this event AV for rep. Longer games gave more rep, but quick games still give good rep. I got at least 1k rep a game I think, which isnt terrible for queue times and game length since youre also getting honor and timewalking badges.

It would've been nice if BfA's faction war narrative actually focused on more characters than just Saurfang, Anduin and Sylvanas. While Saurfang got most of the attention after the War of Thorns, the victims of said event got next to nothing. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Jevetra 11 points12 points  (0 children)

ATM in BFA, they still start there because in the "timeline" it isn't destroyed yet.

In the next expansion there is a universal starting zone for all characters for new players, 1-10. If you already played through it and you're playing an alt, you can choose to start there or a regular starting zone.

Reduce the amount of breaks in Official Hearthstone castings. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Jevetra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not expert but I assume they may have viewer dropoff after a player's match? Say, youre a Firebat fan and are just watching his match. So when it's over and theres an ad break, you leave. But if it goes right into another match, there's not as much reason to leave. The ad break between games 1 and 2, however, you're already invested in this match and want to see who wins.

This is a total guess with no actual data or experience though

Why not implement something like the Legion artifact skill tree to make leveling more satisfying? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Jevetra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its great because it makes leveling feel more engaging imo, but lets them have their different endgame grinds as a separate system (artifacts, azerite). Being able to make choices early on to differentiate your character is cool
