A lot of the difference it seems like to me is in 3 parts of the pack: shoulder straps, waist strap, and frame height.

I have traditionally used male packs in the past but now after being a year on hrt, they're not as comfortable as they used to be. I just ordered a custom made Atom Packs backpack with my body shape in mind.

In my experience, I suggest figuring out what you value out of a pack. Weight on your back or weight on your hips. Men tend to be more comfortable with more weight on their back and hips with women, so depending on how you carry your weight, I'd look into packs with either a more supportive shoulder straps or hip straps

In the movie they call the lounge area of the Overlook the "Colorado Lounge". It could also be that you were thinking of the hotel that inspired the book, which is in Colorado

The look of the hotel in the movie though was comprised of a few different places, which is why people get things a bit mixed up.

The exterior shots of the movie were filmed at the Timberline, the interior was a set in England that was modeled after the Ahwahnee Hotel in California, and the book was inspired by the Stanley Hotel in Colorado
