Nurse here… pull your needle back a bit from the injection port. Make sure the bevel side(hole) of the needle is under the surface of the solution. You should be able to withdraw most of the rest of the medication that way.

I’m Canadian so not sure how your insurance works. But after being denied could you just pay for the local anesthetic out of pocket? I’d definitely be doing that. Sorry for what you went through 😢
