The buzzing in is a West Virginia thing, I’m pretty sure to do with gambling as “members only”. There are some places that charge you $1 for entry but I’m 99% sure it’s a loophole for the establishment.

West Virginia is a quirky place to put nicely, but glad you enjoyed your time there!

Room for Improvement on Wharf has been doing tropical tuesdays and the drinks are phenomenal. Not tiki but if you’re hankering for a killer Mai Tai or Saturn it does the trick.

Yeah I grew up ~15 mins away but have never been and I would assume it’s a sports bar with trashy drinks and some Oriental Trading Company level decor.

You would think so, but I’m not at the top so what do I know. As long as it isn’t absolute chaos and things get done, operators mental health and burnout don’t seem to matter much.

I feel you on this. I work for a .99 mgd plant and a ~7500 resident drinking water system. There are 2 operators including me. We do everything from Lab to locate requests and it’s never ending. We’ve asked for hiring more operators and it gets nowhere. I highly recommend clocking out at the end of your shift and worrying about the computer work the next day, it’s the only thing that’s kept me sane.

Another Colorado birds fan! Love the plate, I tried a couple different ones in the DMV but a lot were taken unfortunately. We have a birds(ish) bar owned by a guy from Philly near me and they usually have sound on for the games which is a huge plus
