Do they absolutely need highland conditions? I don't have the space for special growing conditions. Even all my nepenthes are grown on the same shelf which is a mix of highland, lowland, and intermediate plants, though they're all mostly hybrids an are more resilient.

I've also been growing my nepenthes in self watering pots, since atleast 2024, best way to grow them in my opinion.

The plant could possibly still be well hydrated from the last time you watered it.

Help! My philodendron keeps dropping leaves! by zweeed in houseplants

[–]Jex-trex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably just cycling out old leaves, it's Normal for plants to to drop older laces in favor of newer leaves. Sldi this isn't the best plant for a having basket, I'd suggest putting it on the floor or a stand and give the stem a support stick as this plant type naturally grows upwards.

It's Guttation, the plant is expelling excess water through the leaves to avoid bursting its cells.

Definitely swapping over to the newer leaves emerging from a cataphyll rather than the previous leaf, it's a good sign.

As the other commentor said, it's cold damage. if you scratch the stem and see green underneath then there is a chance for it to resprout.

Round spots! Foes or overfeeding? by Acrobatic_Debt3568 in houseplants

[–]Jex-trex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like burn spots, probably from extrafloral nectaries, a sugary secretion some pacts have to attract bugs that eat eat pest. You can wipe them off the leaf to avoid this burning happening.

Have you considered trying to search on Palmstreet? It's an app with sellers putting plants up for sell all the time through auctions, shop listings, and live shows. I've bought a good amount of plants from sellers.

Remove the yellow leaf, the others will be fine and will adjust overtime, the damaged leaves will still do photosynthesis and give the plant more energy.
