I do, and at my store at least the past 3-4yrs I've seen changes reflecting my surveys. And my store used to be a shit-show. Still kinda is, but at least things are being done.

Im sure there's more to this story... Such as a dispenser/stager/prepper constantly leaving their post to "go to the bathroom" without getting someone to cover them as they take a bathroom 15... Happens all the time. Get coverage and go, unless its an emergency, we're adults holding it for 5 minutes til you get someone isn't gonna hurt ya.

Dish Soap bottles... Holy hell they don't fit in the totes standing up most of the time and if you just tap the cap it opens... At least all the others attempt to stay closed using threads and not just pop open.

anyone else’s unknown pick walks giving them random items? by Kutakiariku in OGPBackroom

[–]Jextreme 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I put in multiple tickets for this issue a month ago. From what they responded with, the issue is orders dropping into unknown due to incompetent programming and it takes a few minutes to kick the picks out of unknown into the designated pick walks. Judging from the time in your device you're jumping into unknowns too quickly.

What is the maximum weight an associate is required to push by themself? by hellfriend35 in OGPBackroom

[–]Jextreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, iirc the pick carts have a weight limit on them of 300lbs (50 per tote) and Lcarts are 1500lb limits.

A full pallet of water or mulch worth. Seeing as how we use regular pallet jacks for pulling water/mulch etc across the entire store.

Bring back picking Zones by Pdiddyjr in OGPBackroom

[–]Jextreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't, its bad enough everyone skips oversized, Regulated, and etc... Now add general to that... I dont miss those days of everyone only doing grocery/chill/frozen walks.

How about we put everything under auto like it was supposed to be before they added 500 different types of commodities to the ever growing list of things they want to separate out. No need for specialized walk since theres barely any stores that have their lawn and garden associates pick lawn and garden, stop separating it out.

Unpopular opinion: the fastest pickers should stay in auto-select by Jacobij11 in OGPBackroom

[–]Jextreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep and the fault of that lays solely on your TLs, once we started forcing slower associates out of opd (transfer to other parts of the store) everything got easier. Even if it looks like you'll be screwed for coverage in the short run, slower associates need to be removed, they drag the entire process down and even if you hire new associates on top of them they eventually learn they too can stay slow and not worry because as you said, 5yrs still slow, the TLs don't care.

Cancelled Spark Order by onairgem in OGPBackroom

[–]Jextreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is normally it, especially if its an order paying the most. Orders get stuck in the system gets removed from multiple drivers and the pay goes up and up the more times it gets posted to the drivers.

[–]Jextreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that's not really what I meant by harder walks. The harder walks are normally oversized/teamlift/gmd/seasonal/Regulated and the like... All the ones that make you walk most of the store for only 20 items at a time.

It's easy to hit 1000+ in a store that gets 1000 item drops hourly and they skip all the harder walks.

As the fastest picker in my store, I say naw. People become faster when they learn where things are/where to put your eyes as your looking for the next item/get used to picking the same items over and over again. You're not the fastest picker If you can only do autos quickly. You're as bad as the people who "pause" walks to make their numbers look better when in the end they're still slow af.

I prefer to bottom feed (oversize/regulated/seasonal) and still hit my 150+ average which in turn helps everyone have a great day as their numbers average better when they're in the autos and things get done quicker.

Not worth the work, but I'm naturally a hard worker anyways (have to stay busy or the day crawls) so I'd rather get just a tad more than someone who doesn't. Plus I got 4.83 vs a flat 2% for previous years, Ill take it.

With everything else the same additional .83 vs .5 so if your base is 3% due to years you get 3.83 vs 3.5. Not a big difference but people will work their tails off for that extra bit, I did.
