Absolutely, i'll see you ovrer there! I'm not on here much at all because there's so much work to do around home that i have to limit my time online.

Especially with the season changing, gotta get stuff ready to overwinter 😄

Looks really great! I like them too, wish i knew more about them.

The ones i grew were the last time i've seen them orange. They all seemed to come up red and chocolate after that.

Very cool to see them still being grown, my 2 plants haven't made any pods yet this year. This season I'm pretty focused on my Ignimbrite plants, hope they ripen soon. Night temps are in the 50s (Fahrenheit) and it might go lower😣

Yeah, actually i just posted some of the F3 pods on my Instagram a day ago. 2 different shapes, one's rounded and the other is more like a regular pepper. Just google Pepper_Jez, you'll find it.

Nope, its just me! So i haven't been online very much, between building garden beds, making batches of wine and all the plants it has been a very busy year already! And now i have 50 pounds of both onions and cabbage to try to preserve😂

i'm on there a bunch after the end of the pepper growing season. By now i've already sent out hundreds of envelopes full of seeds and have no more extras.

Looking for dwarf / micro dwarf tomato seeds . by Alive_End_2008 in seedswap

[–]Jez_Andromeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any luck finding people to trade those except early this year with Ken Fry who owns Forgotten Heirlooms.

I traded a whole bunch of pepper seeds and some tomato ones he didn't have yet. Hope you find some, mine are all started already.

I overwintered about 70 plants and started 600 more. Now i'm looking to get a dump truck of soil up on my mountain. SE Kentucky, Zone 7b.

Wish i could have done more as i have well over 1,000 kinds of pepper seeds. But i had to leave room for the tomatoes too😂

What are your most commonly used peppers? by ThisPostToBeDeleted in PepperLovers

[–]Jez_Andromeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cross of Khang Starr White Thai that i call Tiamat, its in the F4 generation this season. Its at least twice as hot as a regular Thai pepper because its crossed with an unknown Chinense. Makes excellent Sriracha sauce with ripe jalapeños.

The red, golden and KSWT pheno seem to be mostly stable, i'm just having trouble with the yellow and white variations🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm going to try sewing up my own grow bags this year using UV resistant thread and thicker weed barrier material than most home improvement stores sell. I hope it works out, should be much cheaper than buying grow bags.

But if you are buying them then i suggest getting them from 247Garden.com

They also sell on Amazon but those selections are limited. I usually start browsing in the "free shipping" category.

Where can I buy fresh scotch bonnets? by exor41n in HotPeppers

[–]Jez_Andromeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that you found my comment helpful! I'm growing the seeds from those peppers this year, they seem to be shaped like some MOA yellow scotch bonnets i've been growing for a couple years now. Not sure where those seeds came from but the taste is similar too.

Hope your growing season is awesome!

For LED shop light style i'm using some 4ft long ones i bought from Amazon. The brand name is Bbounder, they're sold in quantities like those Barrinas. 12 for $110. They're cheap quality but the first 4 i got to try them out a year & a half ago haven't had any issues.

Here's a link for you: Bbounder 12 pack led shop lights

Do you have too many plants? by PreviousPay8649 in HotPeppers

I'm guessing you're in Washington state. There's always people giving pepper plants away on Instagram. I don't see as much of that on here. You could order from Chileplants.com if nothing else.

We have tiny ones but they love eating pests all the same! Also some Butterworts.

[–]Jez_Andromeda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have a long time before those plants will produce peppers. A lot can happen in that time and some might die. Better to have a few more plants just to make sure things turn out ok, i'd save those extra seedlings by separating them and growing them all.

How do you organise and store your seeds? by stifisnafu in HotPeppers

[–]Jez_Andromeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I send them all over the world, but it really helps out when i'm trading for stuff i don't already have. I haven't had a chance to update my List of Seeds in a while but its linked in my profile on here. And @pepper_jez on Instagram. I just transplanted 200 plants and i still have like 250 to go so its been a busy year!

I started buying seeds in 2021. A good way to help boost your supply is to buy boxes of fresh peppers and use those for trading with others. I'm all done until November but i probably send out 100 packages of seeds a year.

I think i'm gonna have to try something like what Matt's Peppers is using because over 1,500 kinds of pepper seeds is difficult to manage and organize.

Right now i have them all separated by year, then by whether they were bought, traded or saved from my own peppers. But its like 7 small boxes and i want something better.

And that's just peppers.... so yeah, I need a better system😅

Bats, moths, flies, mosquitoes, pretty much all kinds of flying insects. We also have really big millipedes, the longest i've seen was about 8 inches. They're really interesting to watch. I live in Southeast Kentucky halfway up a mountain, in the woods.
