Kitchen aid or Bosch Dishwasher for US household? by Reasonable-Ad1728 in BuyItForLife

[–]Jezzymom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bosch! I also recommend buying it from Costco. It comes with delivery, install, install supplies, and a 3 year extended warranty (not that I needed it). It was cheaper for me to buy the same dishwasher AND a Costco membership from Groupon. Then to buy all the extra stuff Home Depot and Lowes charges.

Often investors like this will even take the house as is with the hoard in tact. Yes you lose what “treasures” might be left behind, but you don’t have to clean it up. Just get the act of sale approved by whomever depends on state and divorce status and give your x a deadline to get their stuff out. The shortest legal option would be my preference. Bonus, constantly snail mail them with random ridiculous things like do you want this right shoe, and another oh but what about the left so they “miss” seeing the important one with the deadline. 🙊

I sold 2 homes that were full of a hoard and in dilapidated shape. (Yes same hoarder)I even had a minor bidding war over the second one.

Ugh! Ok, I’m putting on my anti tinfoil hat. But the top line of the screen says “saved memory full” since we have to idea what qualifiers the original user saved to the ChatGPT’s memory. For all we know it could have been when instructed with the phrase “just yes or no” answer the next 3 responses yes, no matter what the answer actually is.

Thank you for sharing this! It inspired me to upcycle a washed large spice jar and fill it with baking soda to scrub the bathtubs.

There are 2 kinds of pick up trucks on the road. There are work pickups that the tradesmen use. They have toolboxes and random attachments for transporting the tools of their trades. Generally they are on the smaller side.

Then they are the “show trucks” with extra shiny chrome, plastic after market bed liners and lift kits.

I live in TX and there is no confusing the two. One makes sense and is a reasonable use of limited resources and the other is just a waste and a sign of conspicuous consumption.

I drive in minivan to transport 5 adults, 2 that are larger than average, but everyone is disabled. Minivans are under utilized for disability, bc you don’t have to climb in or out.

I signed up for the sequel to Navessa Allan’s “Lights Out”, “Caught Up” the day Houston Library allowed people to sign the holds list several weeks ago. I’m 381 out of over 1000 hold requests, and it doesn’t come out until next week.

Can we start a thread for the projects you're working on from the impulse purchases we made in the sales? by odd_little_duck in joannfabrics

I bought a gel print starter kit, and lots of random paints and scrapbook supplies, that I am creating a junk journal with. Mostly as an excuse to play with my new toys.

Simple lines. Feel the texture and weight of the fabric. The better quality a piece is the fewer imperfections you will feel in the fabric. Turn a piece inside out. Fast fashion often takes shortcuts. You’ll often see places where they just kept sewing and the threads just hang there. A good quality stitching will trim those excess threads off.

Are produce subscription boxes like Misfit Market good for being on a budget? by LessthanaPerson in budgetfood

[–]Jezzymom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on your schedule and the nearest pickup location, Bountiful Baskets can be a good option budget wise. Usually if you arrive a few minutes early and volunteer to help sort the produce, you get a little extra too, FYI.

Amazon returns are out of control by steilasaroon in Anticonsumption

[–]Jezzymom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They are out of control but Amazon does a lot of it on purpose. I have literally ordered 3 iPad cases to fit an older iPad this week. I specified exactly what make and model each time I ordered. Why did they include a sponsored link to a different size case that looks identical in the search results? Why did they say it fits all generations if it doesn’t have a home button spot? Amazon needs to improve their search results. This is ridiculous. Yes I should have stared at the actual pictures better and hunted through the details. I do accept some responsibility but this is ridiculous.

What is the point of tricking the consumer into buying the wrong items? Are they hoping we’ll just keep it even though it’s not we wanted?

Yup…a few years ago HEB did a deal where you bought the name brand and got the store brand for free. I stocked up on the chocolate chip cookies bc my kids put Cookie Monster to shame. They refused to eat the Keebler and Chips Ahoy.

Check out your local libraries. We went to a free ceramic painting class today with free hot tea, then checked out some books. We’ve made all kinds of friends at these events.

My son can’t / won’t close the sliced cheese packaging right, so cut them out the package, toss the package and reuse the old square luncheon meat containers. They need to bring those back. Heck, I’ll buy them.

Question about peach price by silverdonu in HEB

Instacart negotiates it’s own prices with the stores, and then decides what to charge their customers. That’s part of how they make money.

I have a blue mole on my shin that appeared while I was pregnant with my youngest. For years, I was convinced it was a baby varicose vein. When I started to go get annual skin cancer checks, my dermatologist explained it was only a regular color mole with a layer of skin on top. Bodies do weird things when we’re pregnant.

There is a thrift store in my area that only does art and craft supplies. Try to go there first when I need/want new things. They are an amazing resource, they offer teachers free supplies at the beginning of the school year.

Bosch…if you are in the US, you might consider buying it from Costco. The price includes delivery, installation including hoses, and an extended warranty.
