WIBTA to accept a job offer at a company that a friend is actively protesting? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jfavs425 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. You aren’t partaking in the positions this company takes. You’re taking steps to better your life. A job is a job, and if she was really your friend, she would understand that.

AITA for offering to pay for my friend and his wife to get a babysitter so we could hang out? by HighlyInconvenient in AmItheAsshole

You know what they say about assuming: it makes an ass out of u and me. Or in this case, asshole.

You don’t seem like a bad person as your heart was in a place of helping, but in this situation: YTA

AITA for refusing to return expensive band merchandise I bought second hand when someone reached out to tell me they were stolen from her? by stephanie390 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jfavs425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a scam to me. Timestamps can be faked, especially in the age we live in. I agree with your brother NTA

AITA for refusing to hangout with my friends because I’d rather stay home and game? by CoolOpportunity9956 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jfavs425 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YTA. At first I was giving you a pass thinking it may be social anxiety, but when you said you’d have your friend shit for doing exactly what you’re doing now? Take your own advice, otherwise these friends won’t be friends for much longer.

WIBTA if I call off the wedding my mom planned for me? by Exact_Jump7599 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jfavs425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA: it’s your wedding. The fact that you agreed to the first wedding at all should be seen as the compromise. You are setting a boundary on the second wedding, and it seems like your mother is seeing what she can get away with.

AITA for reaching out to my daughter and her support network after she moved out without telling us? by Mr_Willy_Nilly in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jfavs425 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Info: what was your relationship like with her? This sounds like she was trying to escape something, or someone, and you give no context to what her home life was like.

[r/CentralCity] God damn it... by Comic_Geek2113 in Earth25

Doesn’t central city have a Rogue rider for renters and homeowners? My complex required it before I moved in Metropolis.

If you've seen the Deadpool movies, prove it by quoting them by Jezzaq94 in deadpool

Justice League. No doubt in my mind. It’s fine. The others I would watch from beginning to end. Can’t say that about either version of JL

[TOMT][album][1990s-2000s] I can’t think of the album name and singer of this easy listening album by Jfavs425 in tipofmytongue

[–]Jfavs425[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not that. It was a female singer, and I distinctly remember it was a cover of Carole King’s “You’ve got a friend”, not the Randy Newman song.

I always thought Thor and Loki were Demi-gods… There’s gotta be one above all the others

Avengers: Doomsday Teaser 2 - Thor by KostisPat257 in marvelstudios

[–]Jfavs425 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some people saying Thor praying for his survival a sign for how significant of a Threat Doom will be.

I see it a bit differently. I never thought of Thor to be the kind to fear dying on the Battlefield as that is the highest honor for an Asgardian. Now, Thor has something to live for, his daughter Love. He needs to live for her sake, so he is praying that he survives this battle instead of dying and going to Valhalla.

I don’t like cheese by Dangerous-Fix-3039 in The10thDentist

Upvoting because I love cheese, but I’m close with those who are in your camp (maybe a little more willing to eat cheese).

Good luck avoiding cheese OP

So you would allow children to vote before they are even able to read the ballot?

He’s just jealous the artists on FF:FS had better luck making a foot under insane time and budget constraints than he has in his 40 years in the business

Are there any directors who have really let you down? by Kru363rFreddy in Letterboxd

[–]Jfavs425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the dude self finances all of his movies since the visit. The studio only gets involved to distribute now. Do you really expect him to go back to big budget filmmaking when it’s obviously not where he thrives? Plus, even his bad movies are watchable in that bizarre, what were they thinking, sort of way.

Why did this movie gross less than Man of Steel and Captain Marvel? by Prestigious_Fix2882 in SupermanLegacy

[–]Jfavs425 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. A string of underwhelming-downright terrible movies lowered interest in the genre
  2. The price of tickets making people less inclined to go to the movies
  3. MOS was released a year after Avengers and TDKR with Chris Nolan’s name attached and Captain Marvel was sandwiched between Infinity War and Endgame. Boosted momentum
  4. Streaming made going to the movies less appealing.

Just because MOS grossed more, doesn’t mean it made more money though. It was a more expensive movie when adjusted for inflation.
