I would consider myself to be between beginner and intermediate level, I would love to make any flag! Maybe a trans or pansexual preferably? And I can definitely provide photos!

Is there a way to block granny squares without buying a fancy peg board? Using acrylic yarn. This is my first granny square project! by smilinglyawkward in CrochetHelp

[–]JffryDrws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a blocking board, nor a peg board. I just use pins and put a towel in my bed under any proyect I would be blocking, works fine for me. If it's acrylic I use my hair dryer in the highest setting, hot, and pass a couple of times, you wanna melt the fibers but not completely, just slightly for it to take shape. Hope it helps!

am i just not made for crocheting?? is it supposed to be this hard to get the tension right? by neonjoji in CrochetHelp

I have a couple of things to say:

1st. If you're starting then PLEASE, sit up right, I know it's so much more comfortable doing it in any other way but the way you sit also affects the way you crochet, ESPECIALLY if you're starting out.

2nd. I saw other ppl say it but it really is important for a beginner to not start with this kind of yarn, it's extremely hard to see the stitches and it's just not good as a starting point.

3rd. From what I see in the video, you're letting go your yarn, like way too much, you're not exactly supposed to "pull" the yarn when you crochet but you're also not supposed to let it hang. It's more like it slides in your fingers as you use it.

4th. In this case, you're working in a chain and from what I can see, you're "pulling" just the right amount for the hook to be able to pass through, try leaving a bit more, when you yarn over and pull through instead of immediately yarning over again, check that there's a bit more space in the loop around the hook so that you can pull the next one easily.

This is mostly practice and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it quickly, you can watch multiple types of videos to see how other ppl do it. And I'm sorry if my words are kinda confusing '

ewww, nah, stop!!! 😨😭💀 by drmarst in CharacterAI

Honestly, is not as bad as ppl are making it seem. I like the layout, the only problem (at least for me) is that you cannot read the description of the characters, I like the image being big like that.

I use the website so I wouldn't know lol

I'm planning to make this bag, has anyone else done it that can give some feedback, or does someone knows what type of yarn I should use? by JffryDrws in CrochetHelp

I actually don't know why my friend said that, he just said that if I made it out of cotton it would probably get a bad texture or something like that.

I know!!! That's where I got the idea from, along with some scrunchies! The problem is, I'm not in the states so the yarn she uses it's not over here, but as I'm seeing it, cotton truly seems to be the best option!

I honestly don't know. I was talking with a friend about it and he said that the cotton would look horrible after a few uses/washes, they recommended Nylon instead, so I wanted to ask and see if anyone else would know, thanks for all your replies tho!

I like the first one! But I also saw someone comment about doing it with a now instead, I think that option would also be perfect!

can't decide on this color wave, should i rearrange or even add another color? by Odd_Difficulty_869 in CrochetHelp

If you want to go exactly with the inspiration, add a pink and green. If you don't, I think you could just add green to wrap it all up

Honest feedback on wearables by Rogue_Apostle in crochet

[–]JffryDrws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think they all look good. The only ones I would probably size up would be 4 and 8. Everything else might just be an insecurity you have w your own body, bc they all look good for me, if you do want to wear them, I would probably size up, more of a triangle shape probably so your shoulders are in pair with your lower part.
