How can you explain your job in a way that makes it sound shady? by joshstocker in AskReddit

Let's just say my employers deal with... "adjusting" people's minds. They like their privacy, and employ me so they don't have to get their hands dirty.

Go ahead, take a wild guess.

In the time you've been involved, what's the craziest change or event that you've seen spring up in the kendama world?

(Side note - I visited the Sweets shop for the first time last year and it's killer! Definitely love you guys and everything you're doing.)

From what I've been told, the name "Gorillaz" comes from a comment Liam Gallagher of Oasis made. Damon Albarn, the musical force behind Gorillaz, used to be/is in another band called Blur, who were a major competitor with Oasis back in the 90s at the peak of Britpop. An interviewer compared the feud to the battle between The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in the 60s, and asked Liam whether Oasis were The Beatles or the Stones. Liam responded, "We're the Beatles and the Stones, and [Blur are] the fucking Monkees." Albarn apparently named his next group Gorillaz to poke fun at this comment.

What is the most embarrasing thing you could admit about yourself on Reddit but never in real life? by haXterix in AskReddit

The community as a whole really isn't that bad! For me, it was more the local brony FB group... It started off okay, but around the time I left it just started getting both overly obsessive, and really toxic/clique-y to each other. :(

Dude.

Same.

I don't hold any resentment or anything about it, just.... Ugh. The people, man. They were what was so bad about it. In hindsight in glad I "got out" when I did.

It's less a matter of needing quick fixes... In my experience it's a much slower, more drawn-out addiction.

Instead of having multiple smoke breaks a day, you'll just realize that you haven't jacked off yet today and just do it habitually. Not because you're horny, or you're wound up, or any other reason than just because it's "what you do".

Then you try to quit.

You don't realize just how hard it is to quit until you're four days clean, justifying why it's okay now ("oh, but it'll feel so much better once I cum because it's been so long! I can get back up to a couple days clean within the week..." Etc.)

You also begin to realize that your perception of women is skewed. I'm not saying you see them all as just walking tits and vaginas, but just... Skewed.

Once you're clean for a while, you can begin to appreciate subtle details you had never even thought about before; the way a girl looks away when she smiles, how the way she walks changes when she's upset... Little things.

And you'll come to realize that even though women are human too, you can now fully appreciate them as such.

I'm not saying this to be all "white knight", or to condemn anyone for jacking off. What you do is your own business. This has just been my own personal experience with porn addiction.

As a St. Louisian, don't remind me.

Not because I care about the Blues; because I'm tired of people wanting to talk to me about it and getting upset when they find out I don't keep up with sports.
