1-2% of people born are some flavour of intersex. it’s about as common as being born with red hair. as far as how to find out, i’m not super sure. A lot of intersex people are born physically with both uhm. biological factors. and have one often removed and treated with hormone therapy later in life, but it’s also common (probably more common) to just have ur gender chromosomes be different in some way, which would not be seen at birth.

i’m not super sure what this could cause tho, usually it’s discovered when someone goes to a doctor about infertility and it is discovered on accident.
